Nestled deep in the Yorkshire countryside is this delightfully charming cottage that’s entirely dog friendly, a perfect base for any pup-lovers retreat. With antique styling and an authentic country feel, you’re sure to find a new leash of life after a short stay here. Four guests can wake up each morning to admire the far-reaching fields and hills all around, making a plan for long dog walks to tucker out even the most energetic of pups. After long walks and exhaustive days, head home to sink into a wood-fired hot tub whilst your two dogs appreciate free roam of the walled gardens.

With both a wood burner and an open fire fitted on the ground floor, we’re sure that you’ll always feel cosy when staying in this renovated country cottage. Let Fido and Rover warm their paws and dream of walkies past in front of the wood burner in the kitchen or curled up by the fire in the inviting lounge space. You can let sleeping dogs lie in peace and tranquillity as you head on up to the two bedrooms on the first floor. A real walker’s paradise, the property is also equipped with a ground-floor boot room for stowing away walking boots and giving pups’ paws a clean down, along with woodlands and a lake to be explored within the accommodation’s grounds.

Having spent time exploring the areas on your doorstep, head out to sniff out adventure further afield. The property is situated close to both Richmond (9 miles) and Darlington (7 miles), each offering an enjoyable town centre to mosey around on a relaxed afternoon. Your pup will adore exploring the Deer Park at Raby Castle (13 miles), on the leash, of course, and both humans and pets alike will find plenty to enjoy in the gardens at Barnard Castle (16 miles).

Great location for a relaxing week. Lots of walks and trips out. Wood fired hot tub and garden used all week for relaxing and dining. Plenty of private outdoor space. comfy beds and plenty of hot water ( although not needed in the hot weather). Nice touches including welcome package and towelling robes.

The cottage is in a beautiful location and the welcome pack was lovely. The cottage has a very good recycling set up and the beds were very comfortable. However, the cottage was quite dirty, with cobwebs everywhere and there was a lot of furniture in the property which makes the rooms feel smaller than they actually are. A lot of this furniture is Read moreold, tatty and stained, the throws over the chairs and settee are an attempt to hide this. In our opinion this is not a 'luxurious' property, although the location is lovely. Hide

Lovely private cottage, furnished to a high standard. Excellent welcome pack and cleanliness exceptional. Electric towel rail was not working, this was reported but not resolved, felt the communication on this could have been better. Any staff we met onsite were very friendly.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location , we didnt feel it was particularly dog friendly with notices around saying not allowed on furniture etc ( although we always take our dogs own beds it was a bit off putting) and it would have been good if they could have had free run in one of the fields on the estate instead of having to drive to where theyRead more could run freely. An impressive house in a beautiful spot. We enjoyed the garden which was perfect for the digs and for bbqs (even in April). There was a very generous welcome basket on arrival. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage - with the large fenced off gardens it was great for the dogs to wander and play without us worrying about them, and a lovely walk on the estate grounds was a great way to start the day. If you have reactive dogs, the horses in field and dogs in the main house may set them off. No faults with the cottage - it wasRead more comfortable and quiet, but the noise from the A1 is noticeable from the garden and especially loud on wet days. Hide
