Located 2.5 miles from the sandy cove at Crackington Haven and 9 miles from the surf of Bude, this handsome holiday home is an excellent base for families, friends and their four-pawed companions keen to sniff out the best of Cornwall. Complete with a hot tub and 36 acres of shared woodland to explore, your entire pack will love a West Country escape at this stone-built home away from home.
Step inside and shake off sandy boots and salty coats in the hallway. Three ground-floor super-king bedrooms are found here, each with its own en-suite shower room – great for early-rising walkers. Two of these rooms can also be set up as twins if needed. At the end of the hall lies the sociable open-plan living area, blending a sleek kitchen, dining area and lounge. On warm days, throw open the glass doors so sea air drifts through while your furry friend potters in and out. Sink into the soft seating with the Smart TV on, or gather around the wooden table for big, hearty meals cooked up in the well-equipped kitchen. For a bit of friendly competition after dinner, the shared games room has pool, air hockey and darts. Upstairs, the fourth super-king zip-and-link bedroom (which can become a twin) comes with its own en-suite, rounding off the sleeping arrangements. Outside, the decked terrace is a lovely spot for morning brews and BBQ suppers, while the private hot tub is waiting when the stars come out. Beyond the garden, you and your tail-wagger can roam 36 acres of shared woodland and countryside, giving plenty of room for energetic zoomies. Parking for up to four cars makes arrivals easy.
Crackington Haven’s sheltered beach is a hit with children and curious canines alike, thanks to its rock pools, gentle waves and village pubs and cafes right by the shore. Dogs are only allowed on the beach before 10 am or after 6 pm between 15 May and 30 September. During these times, pick up the South West Coast Path 2 miles away, heading towards Widemouth Bay (6.5 miles) or the dramatic cliffs of Boscastle (8.5 miles). Alternatively, legendary Tintagel (11.5 miles) and its famous castle are something history hounds are sure to enjoy.
