Coast and countryside lie waiting to be explored by eager paws on the majestic Isle of Wight. Experience the very best pet-friendly base in this handsome country cottage, an abode surrounded by verdant fields and bright greenery, perfect for endless walks with Rover leading the way. You can take a footpath to the village of Godshill (1 mile), a quaint locale with thatched roof architecture offering plenty to look at and shops and cafes providing goodies to take home for owner and dog alike. The property itself sleeps four guests and two four-pawed pals, complete with ample space to claim both indoors and out.
On arrival, you’ll first notice the vast outdoor space for ball games with man’s best friend. The enclosed garden area is shared with neighbouring dog-friendly properties. Once inside, feel instantly at home with Fido gently padding around, looking for the cosiest place to kip. The cottage offers an open-plan living space on the ground floor, consisting of a kitchen, lounge and dining area. Choose a board game or a DVD and enjoy your evening, leaving your pup to drift off amidst the hum of activity. Drag dog-tired bodies upstairs after a day filled with walkies and fetch to the king-size and twin bedrooms, a refreshing bathroom completes the property’s offering.
Whilst beautiful, rural Godshill is just a short walk away, you’ll probably prefer to jump in the car to reach the fabulous seaside resort towns of Shanklin (5.5 miles) and Ventnor (6 miles). Offering its own microclimate, Ventnor is a tail-wagging holiday destination that people and pets will adore. It’s home to a zig-zag shingle beach that welcomes pets through the off-season. In the summer, trot along the coastal path to Monks Bay (7 miles) or Orchard Bay (5.5 miles) to find sandy shores where your dogs can play.
