Set on a working farm between the Blackdown Hills and Jurassic Coast, this beautiful bolthole offers the best of all worlds. Blending rustic charm with all the expected creature comforts, its two en-suite bedrooms offer flexibility for any party of four. Meet the farm animals, sniff out the countryside on your doorstep or simply unwind in your patio garden. Stone-built and with floor-to-ceiling patio doors at one end, this converted farm building is a great choice for companionable down-time with friends or family and your favourite four-pawed pal. Those patio doors lead straight into a light and airy open-plan living area – warmed by underfloor heating and a wood burner when the temperatures drop – featuring comfortable sofas and a Smart TV, plus plenty of books and games for your entertainment. A stylish wooden staircase rises close to the dining suite and contemporary kitchen, the latter complemented by a utility room that will prove a handy space for the pup’s bedding and other paraphernalia. A convenient WC is tucked beneath the stairs. Once you’ve bid goodnight to your pet, ascend to the first floor and two blissful bedrooms beckon, each with their own TV. Choose between a super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and, across the hall, a zip-and-link twin room (which can be made into a king-size on request) with an en-suite shower room. Settle into rhythm of rural life by relaxing on the patio – listen to the birdsong as you fire up the BBQ and be sure to save a sausage or two for your ever-hopeful pup.
Off-road parking for two cars means you can unpack and explore at your own pace; enjoy strolls along leafy lanes or arrange to meet the farm animals. When you’re ready to venture further afield, head six miles east and the vibrant market town of Axminster is famous for its carpet industry and creative community, while 8 miles south Seaton has a beautiful harbour, pebbled beach and a fine selection of independent shops, inns and eateries. Follow the South West Coast Path from here to the pretty village of Beer (10.5 miles), or drive the same distance to historic Lyme Regis and its iconic 13th-century Cobb wall. If you’d like to share your holiday with a larger party, other properties can be booked to accommodate up to 11 more people and two more pets; please ask for details.
