Property code: OC-W30998

Elegantly designed with antique furnishings, this handsome holiday home invites smaller packs of four guests and two four-pawed pals to spend time in rural Cornwall. The impressive property forms part of a grand manor house, with privacy assured for you and your canine friends. A south-facing courtyard is yours to unwind in while Fido and Rover chase tails to their heart’s content, and you also have access to a larger on-site orchard, an additional space for pets to play. Off-site, discover an abundance of options for daily walkies, making your way onto Bodmin Moor to leave no stick unfetched among its scenic country pathways.

On entry, stop off in the utility room with a downstairs WC to give paws a good wipe down and neatly stow away coats and boots. From here, move into the kitchen where you can serve up a dog’s dinner (and something tastier for the humans of the pack). Double doors then lead into the impressive lounge/diner, opulently decorated in rich tones with unique artwork. Pop a log or two on the wood burner and let your pup fall asleep at your heel, enjoying some great conversation or entertainment from the Smart TV. Upstairs, two beautiful bedrooms feature impressive far-reaching views to wake up to each morning, and a lovely bathroom is furnished with an elegant roll-top bath. Along with ample private parking, the outdoor space for this property consists of the enclosed courtyard and the orchard further afield.

Keeping you at home, you’ve also got access to a shared games room on site. When it’s time to get up and explore, pop Fido on the lead and head out in every direction. As well as Bodmin Moor on your doorstep (1 mile), you can also access Cornwall’s north and south coastlines, both within 20 miles. Head south to Looe (18.5 miles) and visit the pet-welcoming Plaidy Beach for ball games on sandy shores.

This was a fantastic centrally located cottage for ourselves, a party of 3 adults. The accommodation was superb and the owners, Dolly and David met us on our arrival. We were welcomed with a beautiful home made victoria sponge cake, which went down very well after a long drive. The photographs do not do this place justice at all. The period feaRead moretures were amazing and we adored the chiming grandfather clock in the living room. Unfortunately we stayed there in the summer, otherwise that beautiful log burner in the living room would have been on every single night. The bedrooms were immaculate and clean and exceptionally comfortable with what was 100% high quality cotton bed linen and the very best quality pillows. The bedrooms very bright and airy and both bathrooms were great. The added bathroom on the groundfloor came in handy regularly for those of us who were not as agile as we once used to be. I loved enjoyed an evening soak in the beautiful roll top bath - probably on most evenings. The grounds were lovely to walk around especially the orchard. The only thing to be wary of (and the owners cannot do anything about this so it is not a criticism of them) but the roads leading to the cottage are very very narrow and in summer the hedgerows are very tall making it a very slow drive. We got used to it but at first it felt quite a challenge especially as its right beside a working farm, so we came face to face on a few occasions with a huge tractor and no passing place, but a little reversing was needed until you came to a passing place. There is really nothing we could fault about the place at all. We would most definitely return. Hide
