Lying along the shores of the peaceful Bengairn Loch, this light-filled cabin makes an ideal holiday getaway for couples and smaller families enjoying a relaxing break in a beautiful part of Dumfries and Galloway. With ample space for four guests, the cheery lodge also has space for a furry four-pawed pal to join you for long rural and coastal walks. Situated on a working farm along the northern edge of the Solway Firth, this spacious single-level retreat features a soothing hot tub, a charming patio and serene waterside views.
Entering this stylish retreat, the cheery open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner features a high sloping ceiling and bi-fold doors offering a lovely view over the loch. With plenty of seating, a Smart TV and a lovely wood burner-effect electric fire, the lounge is an ideal space for you and your pet to settle back and relax after a great day out. A sociable dining table is at the heart of the room, with an elegantly organised, fully equipped kitchen to the rear. You will have a choice of two spacious en-suite bedrooms – a cosy super-king-size room and a welcoming king-size room. From the main living area and both bedrooms, French doors lead onto the waterside patio, a lovely spot for your pet to relax in the shade as you dine alfresco or enjoy a dip in the bubbling hot tub. There’s ample off-road parking and secure bike storage.
The cabin forms part of a sweet complex of properties on a 1,000-acre beef and sheep farm where guests are welcome to explore the farmland, watch the sheepdogs and help feed the spring lambs. Castle Douglas lies to the north (9 miles), with nearby dog-welcoming attractions including RSPB Ken-Dee Marshes, Dalbeattie Forest and the tranquil beaches at Rockcliffe, Sandyhills and Southerness (all within 20 miles).
