This rural holiday retreat is set amongst the peaceful Yorkshire countryside, just 2 miles from Whitby. Sleeping three guests and one waggy-tailed pal, it’s the ideal base for couples or small families looking to explore both the Yorkshire coast and the remote landscape of the North York Moors. The surrounding area is awash with walking trails to explore, highlights of which include the Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track.
The quaint cottage is warm and inviting, with a delightful blend of rustic charm and contemporary touches. Leave walking boots and dog leads in the small vestibule, before heading through to the main living space. The lounge/kitchen/diner is bright and airy, with a characterful beamed ceiling, contemporary furniture, and artwork adorning the walls. Unwind here after a long walk with your four-legged friend, curled up in an armchair with your holiday read or catching up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. Opposite the lounge is a sleek kitchen area where you can prepare hearty meals using fresh, local ingredients. Set under the window is a sweet dining table for enjoying mealtimes together. Completing the ground floor is a refreshing bathroom. Upstairs, two stylish double bedrooms are nestled in the eaves. Please note, these rooms have sloping ceilings and you may experience restricted head height in some areas. Although there is no outside space, you and the hound will find numerous footpaths to explore directly from the property. There is private parking available for one car.
The bustling coastal town of Whitby makes for a fantastic doggy day out. Enjoy a stroll around the historic harbour, or head to the old town to potter amongst the narrow, cobbled streets and dine in one of the many independent cafes or restaurants. The town has a fabulous array of paw-friendly beaches, including Tate Hill and West Cliff. There are also some truly breathtaking walks to explore with your furry sidekick – the coastal path towards Robin Hood’s Bay is particularly scenic and is a must for wildlife enthusiasts. To get a different view of the landscape, hop aboard a steam train and enjoy a majestic jaunt from Whitby to Pickering.
