Set in a riverside Welsh coastal village, this boutique yet traditional cottage for a couple plus two canine companions is ideal for a quiet getaway in the Cardigan Bay area. During the daytime, explore the northern stretches of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, visit historical landmarks and wander around the charming nearby seaside towns. Spend your evenings relaxing on the decking or cook a candle-lit dinner before snuggling up with a film in the cosy living space.

Enter the property to find yourself in the studio-style space containing a lounge area, a dining table plus a bed. Wooden furnishings, neutral tones and a splash of yellow create a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere. The leather Chesterfield sofa sits on one side of the room beside a two-person wooden dining table. In front of a feature wall with floral wallpaper is a king-size bed with an elegant metal frame. Continue into the airy ‘L’-shaped kitchen with white cabinets and wooden-effect surface tops. Completing the interior is a white shower room. Outside, you’ll find an enclosed decked area with furniture. There is private parking for two cars.

Start your day by exploring the village of St Dogmaels and sniff out the historical ruins of St Dogmaels Abbey and Y Felin water mill before strolling along the Afon Teifi (a river less than 0.5 miles away). The village is home to a handful of eateries and shops but if you want a wider selection, head to the neighbouring town of Cardigan (1.5 miles). Take your four-legged friends for a run around the Welsh Wildlife Centre and admire the medieval National Trust Cilgerran Castle (4 miles). Pack a picnic for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Landscape where you can walk along the cliff-top trails, swim in Pwll y Wrach lake (5 miles) or relax on Ceibwr Beach (5 miles).

Great base and location for a relaxing break. Lots of local walks and things to do. The place was extremely comfortable and well equipped, we found everything we needed. Great touches with the arrival gifts, which are always so welcome. Locals were really friendly and great food options in the area. Cottage was very good and in an excellent location for Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Would definitely return.
