Surrounded by 20 acres of wide-open grounds at the heart of the Peak District National Park, this farmhouse offers an exceptional base for holidays with man’s best friend. Set on an eight-cottage complex surrounding a cheerful courtyard, this holiday home is a top-dog choice for guests visiting with extended family or friends. This cottage sleeps a pack of five guests and three dogs, complete with sunny interiors laid out on a single storey and a whole array of facilities, including a bike storage shed, laundry room, and packed games room with pool table, table tennis and children’s area.

Set tails wagging as you step inside this traditional stone cottage and make yourselves at home. The ground-floor abode centres around an open-plan living space, where a kitchen, lounge and diner invite nights of relaxation with your pets gently snoozing away in the corner. Leave your sleeping dogs to rest peacefully here as you find three bedrooms along the hallway – an en-suite double, a twin and a single – plus a family bathroom. Moving outside, find a selection of outdoor spaces to enjoy with Fido off the lead, including your private, enclosed patio with garden furniture, the two separate dog paddocks for exercising your four-pawed pals and the large garden with a BBQ and well-equipped kitchen.

Sniff out every adventure in the surrounding Lathkill Dale, one of Derbyshire’s prettiest dales with sweeping hills, endless routes for walkies and the River Lathkill gently tumbling through (2.5 miles). Take an easy-going stroll up to the picture-perfect village of Ashford-in-the Water (3 miles) to find the banks of the River Wye or visit the vast and spectacular Thornbridge Estate (4 miles) where canine companions are invited to frequent the grounds and cafe.

So many little touches that we appreciated. Much better quality of crockery and cutlery than usual in holiday cottages. Cosy bedding. I'm a poor sleeper but definitely had a better quality of sleep that usual. We liked the phone chargers in the double rooms. The heating system simple to use and clearly explained in the Bolehill Farm books. ThRead moreese books were also an excellent source of information. Well laid out . Owners very approachable and helpful. When we arrived a good Welcome Tray awaited is including home lemon drizzle cake and good ground coffee. I was especially impressed with the courtyard flowers and shrubs. Someone has put a lot of effort and imagination into creating such beautiful displays. Would 100% recommend Oops! Nearly forgot...dog is pack with bowls, rug and towels. Also the males in our group enjoyed the games room. Hide

Lovely cosy cottage in a fabulous location. Tranquil but close enough for convenience. Cottage has everything we needed and facilities onsite were enjoyed by three generations of family - especially the pool table by our 10 year old! Dogs were very catered for and the owners were especially helpful; we left something behind and the owners went abovRead moree and beyond to ensure it was returned to us. Hide

Fantastic location, beautiful surroundings. Friendly hosts. Lovely cottage with great facilities. Kids loved the games room! Thank you for the lemon drizzle cake on arrival (and the bottle of milk in the fridge!)
