Embrace nature in this idyllic holiday retreat, nestled amongst the unspoilt countryside of the Blackdown Hills National Landscape. The lodge sleeps two guests and two pups and makes a fabulous romantic bolthole for couples looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Stride out from your front door to explore the 130-acre farm surrounding the property, or head further afield to investigate the stunning beaches and clifftop trails of the Jurassic Coast (25 miles).
The wood-clad lodge feels bright and spacious, with a pitched roof and triple-aspect windows looking out across the valley. The main living space is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you and the hounds can chill out after a day of adventure. Whip up delicious dinners for two in the sleek kitchen, to share together at the cute dining table or outside on the veranda. After a busy day, sink into the plump sofa to read a book or watch the Smart TV. When it''s time for bed, retire to the Scandi-style, king-size bedroom for a good night''s sleep. A sleek shower room with a walk-in shower completes the accommodation. Outside, relax on the covered veranda and take in your breathtaking surroundings. You''ll also have an enclosed garden where dogs can play, and you can fire up the BBQ on a summer''s evening. There is a handy dog shower on site and guests are welcome to take a tour of the farm, by prior arrangement with the owner.
The Blackdown Hills are a haven for walkers and four-pawed explorers. There are some lovely routes following the River Culm and on a hot, summer''s day you can head to the Culmstock River Beach (12 miles). After a long walk, refuel in one of the nearby village pubs (there are two within 3 miles of the lodge). The county town of Taunton (8.5 miles) has some excellent, paw-friendly eateries.
