An inviting home with a large, enclosed garden, situated in the historic village of Llanarthney. This airy abode is ideal for small families or couples exploring the scenic Carmarthenshire landscape with a four-pawed pal. Sniff out a doggy-designated day at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (2.5 miles) to scamper through 568 acres of countryside and landscaped parkland. Back at base, unwind with a chilled sundowner on the patio while Fido tackles a chew on the lawn.

This modern property features an airy interior with thoughtful design touches throughout. Park up in the gravelled driveway then crunch along the path to the front door. Dry soggy paws at the entrance before padding into the spacious kitchen/diner. Rustle up a meaty feast for your pup in the kitchen then gather around the dining table for a celebratory evening supper. Store leads and freshen up any muddy dog gear in the utility room. Stepping into the lounge, sink onto the plump corner sofa with a brew and biscuits. Retire upstairs to discover a king-size and an adaptable king-size/twin. Completing the property is a bright bathroom. Outdoors, ball-throw on the stretch of grass then drink in the crisp countryside breeze as you recline with a morning coffee on the patio.

Doe-eyed dogs are sure to receive a scratch behind the ear as you peruse the weekly farmers’ market in Llanarthney (0.5 miles) for fresh produce. Sample seasonal menus at the relaxed dog-friendly eateries in Carmarthen (10 miles) or satisfy the history-loving hounds as you explore Dinefwr Castle (8.5 miles) – dotted with refreshing bowls of water.

The cottage is great - completed to a very high standard and very clean. We visited the local pub at the end of the road which was lovely and the staff extremely friendly. The milk shed opposite was nice offering fresh milk, eggs, honey etc. The park opposite was great for our dog, she loved going over there for a run! We also had a lovely walk Read moreup to Paxtons Tower, lovely views over the area. However, we were very concerned that the back boundary fence was quite low and contained 2 rows of barbed wire! considering this is supposed to be a dog and child friendly property we felt this was a huge safety issue. If not remedied there will be a nasty accident for either a dog or a child. There are sheep in the field at the back of the property and this makes that boundary very interesting to a dog! There was also a significant gap at the end of the fence separating it from next door (Cliftonville House) - we blocked this off with a wheelie bin and next door wasn't occupied so not a huge problem but it will pose a problem when the 2 properties are rented out at the same time. When we arrived it was a hot and sunny weekend - there was no shade in the garden - we would recommend a patio umbrella or canopy. We also would have appreciated knowing in advance that logging was taking place on the nearly hillside - at 7.30am each morning we were woken up by chainsaws and heavy machinery - we appreciate this is beyond the property owners control but i think a notice on the booking site making people aware of this would have been appropriate and courteous. I assume at some stage this will cease but for now it is a nuisance! No welcome pack which was a shame :( - it would have been a nice touch. If these issues are addressed we think it would a lovely holiday rental. Hide
