Step back in time during your stay in one of two historic Pullman coaches set in the seaside village of Ravenglass, on the Eskdale Railway Line. With its detailed, original wooden-panelled walls, elegant bedrooms, and a peaceful sensory garden, you and your family or partner, plus two canine companions, will be in for a memorable and relaxing stay. Surrounding you will be the Lake District National Park’s scenic coastline, mountains, and lakes while you’ll also benefit from the local amenities of Ravenglass village.

As you enter the Pullman coach you’ll be welcomed by a unique and bright lounge with plush velvet sofas and a matching dining table and chairs. The large windows are framed by curtains and wooden furnishings match the walls. Continue into the kitchen to find a stylish fitted unit with a retro feel. Both bedrooms are characterful and comfortable – a double with an en-suite shower room and a twin room. Completing the interior is a contemporary family shower room. Outside is an enclosed patio with a bench, a sensory garden and additional outdoor space which is shared with neighbouring properties.

Visit the nearby historic Ravenglass Roman Bath House (0.5 miles) or the Swinside Stone Circle (18 miles). Head to the seafront (1 mile) and set tails wagging on a walk around the dog-friendly Drigg Sand Dunes and Beach (5 miles). Venture further into the Lake District National Park to find the cascading 60ft Stanley Ghyll Waterfall (9 miles), Wast Water hiking area (9.5 miles) and the 978m Scafell Pike mountain (12 miles).

The Maid of Kent was a fun experience, but perhaps it should be mentioned in the Need to Know section that the metal steps up into the carriage are pretty steep and challenging for older people, or even young children, and pets.
