Two en-suite bedrooms and an enclosed garden make this seaside barn an excellent choice for couples, friends or families bringing a pair of canine companions. It’s perfectly placed for hikes on the coast path, runs on the beach and evenings in the local pub.
Set in a courtyard on the owner’s farm, this gorgeous escape is one of four holiday retreats, but perfectly private. After parking at the top of the farm, you’ll wheel your belongings, using a trolley, to your front door. Heading inside, with your dogs beside you, you’ll find the delightful open-plan living space, where you can relax and either enjoy the views or snuggle up as you watch the Smart TV. The kitchen offers all the appliances necessary for cooking delicious snacks and meals, and there’s a dining area for four. Settle your pups for bed and choose from the two bedrooms for a comfortable night’s sleep – both have zip-and-link beds that can be made up as either a super-king-size or a twin. There’s an en-suite shower room in each bedroom too. To enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, you can sip a coffee or fire up the BBQ on the patio as you watch your hairy hounds sniffing about on the lawn.
For long-legged hounds that love to run and run, take your pick from a number of dog-friendly beaches within easy reach, including the long sands of Westward Ho!, 3 miles away (parts of which are dog friendly all year round), the pebbles of Peppercombe, 4 miles away, or Instow, 6 miles away. Alternatively, in Barnstaple, 11.5 miles away, you’ll find a variety of shops and places to eat as well as the start of the Tarka Trail, which leads into Exmoor National Park via public footpaths through farmland and scenic valleys.
