In an excellent location just 2.5 miles from the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, this luxury homestead makes a wonderful holiday base for a family and their dogs. It’s surrounded by gorgeous countryside and is surrounded by a large shared lawn that’s sure to get the bark of approval from your four-legged friends. You’ll be in the sweet village of Badgworth, known for its microbrewery which ale lovers will appreciate – it’d be rude not to go and sample some local IPA, pilsner or stout!

The property is one of four adjoining homes, all with period charm and renovated to an exceptional standard. Inside, a beautifully designed open-plan area forms the hub of the home, featuring a chic kitchen, a snug lounge and a dedicated dining alcove. The raw beauty of exposed stone walls serves to amplify the cosiness of the room, especially when you spark up the wood burner. After busy days out enjoying the Somerset hills, switch on the Smart TV for a quiet night in with your pets at your feet. From the lounge, doors open into the garden where you’ll have a patio, lawn, garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ so you can cook in the fresh air when the weather’s good – extra sausages for the fluffballs, please.

You’ll have a lovely country pub 1.5 miles away and plenty of shops in the historical village of Axbridge (2.5 miles), which has a lovely medieval square and museum. To make a cheese pilgrimage and be wowed by a natural limestone wonder, head to Cheddar Gorge (6.5 miles). Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome to sniff out the caves (6 miles), where you can admire spectacular stalagmites and stalactites and see the site where a 10,000-year-old skeleton was found. Other popular sites you can explore with your pet are Wells Cathedral (13 miles), the quirky town of Glastonbury (also 13 miles) and the city of Bristol (21 miles).

This was our second stay at the Venue and it wont be our last! We stayed in the Brambles initially for 5 nights in Oct 2024 and this latest stay was in the in The Stables for 7 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed both stays as did our dog Oscar. Both properties are excellent and well situated for visiting beaches and other walks with Oscar. A very cosy and modern well-equipped cottage with all the things we needed. Pretty comfortable beds 2 bathrooms (1 smaller version) Plenty of privacy in the front garden and very closeby the M5. Love to come back again someday and also loved the taproom and brewery with some lovely self brewed beers

We stayed here with two friends and our two dogs. The Stables is a great property, decoration is lovely, and has clearly been done to a high standard. The garden is great for the dogs to run around in. Its easy to get to. Not too close to lots of amenities but that was fine with us. The onsite brewhouse is also great and we tried some lovely made Read moreonsite beers. In short we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Hide

Exceptional property - very comfortable and well-equipped. Good location as a base from which to explore the surrounding area with easy access into the village. The fabulous homemade dessert from the owner which was there on arrival was a lovely touch! Highly recommended and will certainly return when in the UK and in the area.

Lovely cosy cottage with everything required for self catering in a peaceful rural setting. There are so many beautiful places to visit within a short drive, great beaches & countryside for dog walking. Lots of good restaurants if you dont want to cook. The micro brewery was a great amenity on the doorstep.

Cottage was immaculate and well equipped and is set in a very peaceful rural location within a short drive of many attractions in the area, such as Bath, Bristol, Wells, Cheddar, Wookey Hole, Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-sea and Glastonbury. Love this part of the country and would visit again and would happily stay in the same cottage again.
