We had a wonderful time. We were celebrating 3 big family birthdays and had hired a private chef to cook for us on the Saturday evening. Louisa and co could not have been more accommodating and Russet Cottage had all the space and equipment chef needed to cook and serve a fabulous meal for 7 plus toddler. Friday night at the on site microbrewery waRead mores the perfect start to our holiday and Graham also supplied us with delicious ales for our meal. Fantastic walks all around and an easy drive to the Avalon Marshes. Hide

One of the most well appointed cottages we have stayed in on our travels in the UK during past 15 years. Peaceful and relaxing setting although the weather detracted from outside use. Rather too remote for my wife and her sister who are in their mid 70s and like to walk to a shop for daily provision, we had to go by car everywhere - which meant I hRead moread to drive everyday, everywhere, and Im even older ! Never mind we had a good time getting around the local villages and eating out. Great Badgfest evening, my style of music, nearly asked for a turn on the drums, although Im out of practice by 15 years or so. Hide

The cottage is spacious and bright, the kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of room. The location is very pretty, and quiet apart from when the brewery is open, as the bedrooms back onto it, our first night especially was a struggle to sleep before midnight because of the noise. The carrot cake was a lovely touch, but was really surprisRead moreed to not have more of a welcome pack for the price of the property, at the very least a small bottle of milk as there aren't shops very close by. The bedrooms are nice but only 2 of them have wardrobes and not long ones at that, so hanging certain clothes wasn't possible. They only have wooden blinds in too, so if you struggle to sleep in bright rooms, this is probably not the location for you. Showers could do with a really thorough clean around the grout, whilst the cubicles were very clean, the condition of the grout and black mould was quite off-putting again for the price of the property was unexpected. The front door is quite difficult to open. At times it opens like a charm, others it will take 2-3 attempts. Front room is lovely, but the sofa is incredibly low. With all 3 of us being disabled, we found it very difficult to get up off. Again, be mindful if you are elderly or have mobility issues. The owners were accommodating when we arrived early and wanted to leave a car whilst we went for lunch, and also provided us with a loo roll that was missing from the en suite and the recipe for the cake. It's a nice place, but not as good as we were expecting. Not somewhere that we'd return to but good to get away. Hide

Three generations spent a week in Russet Cottage, there was plenty of room for us all. The secure garden with play equipment was ideal for the grandchilden and our dog. The owner dealt with a difficult problem we had very quickly, which was appreciated.

Wow, what a fab property. Kitchen was well stocked and good quality furnishings throughout. It was all very comfortable. We loved the micro-brewery onsite. Location is gorgeous - lovely village and some nice places to visit nearby. Would definitely recommend staying here.
