Create unforgettable memories with the people you love in this chic first-floor apartment tucked away in the gorgeous village of St Issey. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, this retreat is tailor-made for small families or groups of friends who want to discover North Cornwall''s coastal charm with their pups by their side. During the day, take your faithful friends for walkies along the picturesque Camel Trail; and in the evening come home to your stylish apartment to dine alfresco on the quaint patio.

Ascend the steps up to the first floor, step inside the apartment and you’ll discover an expansive open-plan living/kitchen/dining area. Settle onto a sofa in the living area and you’ll feel instantly at home as you soak in the pretty rural views through the glass doors. When it’s time to eat, head to the contemporary-style kitchen to whip something tasty for your loved ones. Gather everyone together to eat at the oak dining table, or head out onto the intimate patio, where a picnic bench sets the stage for a delightful al fresco dining experience. After dinner, retire to the living area to unwind in front of your favourite TV show as your pups stretch out and snooze by your feet. At the end of the day, two inviting bedrooms await you – one cheerful double and one cosy twin.

Pack up a picnic and spend a wonderful afternoon at Boobys Bay (7 miles), which is dog friendly all year round. Alternatively, take your dogs on a tour of the pretty grounds at Prideaux Place (4 miles), which dates back to 1592. Although you can’t take your pups inside the Elizabethan manor house, they’re welcome in the pristine gardens overlooking the deer park.

This is a nice apartment. Somewhat basic as far as furnishings and fittings go, but perfectly adequate. A few items were of poor quality (like the hangers in the wardrobe and the cutlery) but these were not deal-breakers. The underfloor heating kept the apartment nice and toasty after it had had time to heat the place up but it would have been bettRead moreer if it had been switched on already in anticipation of our arrival (we had to hunt for the on-switch in the cupboard at the top of the stairs next to the boiler and turn it on ourselves). The kitchen area has lots of worktop space and many cupboards for storage. There is a gas hob which is unusual in a holiday let, but quite welcome. Most of the plates, pots, pans, cutlery and utensils that you need are provided so that's good. Some tea, coffee and sugar sachets were also provided, which was a good touch, though there was no milk, bread, or other welcome pack, which would have been even better. There is adequate parking behind the building and the location is a great base for trips to Padstow and Wadebridge (close by), and New Quay and St. Austell (a bit further away). The Eden Project is a mere 30-minute drive away. There is a bit of a view from the living room out over the countryside, but there is nothing particularly interesting to see, so it's not a massive USP (Unique Selling Point). All in all, a nice, pleasant, perfectly adequate self-catering apartment to use as a base for exploring the surrounding countryside and good value for money. Hide

We had a fantastic stay at the Heron. We found the apartment spotless and had everything we needed. It was also very quiet. Jeanette and Richard were very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was a short drive to lots of beautiful beaches and walks. We had a lovely meal in Pickwick near by and our daughters enjoyed playing in the park there.
