For those who wouldn’t dream of enjoying a country getaway without man’s best friend at their side, this luxuriously bijou cottage for two provides the perfect base. Discover endless Northumberland dog walks dotted all around the property. Whether you’re letting Rover lead the way amongst the surrounding open farmland or leaving no stick unfetched on the coastal path nearby, both man and dog alike are sure to find something appealing amongst this vibrant AONB. As well as sleeping two guests in a fabulous king-size bed, the property welcomes two canine companions to stay in superb comfort.

On arrival, you’ll first notice a lovely lawn space with fabulous views and a bistro set. This garden is securely fenced in so your pups can roam freely as you enjoy a morning coffee or evening sundowner. Stepping inside you’ll find a charming studio accommodation with the king-size bed tucked away in a neat little alcove. The rest of the space is made up of a lounge, kitchen and diner, with a contemporary shower room just next door. Throw a log or two on the wood burner when staying in the colder months, letting Fido curl up cosy by the warmth of the flames whilst you prepare a romantic dinner for two or get stuck into a favourite film on the Smart TV.

Quality routes for walkies assured, you can lace up your walking boots and pack a tennis ball or two to explore this surrounding area. Discover pretty coastal villages from which you can set off, including Newton-by-the-Sea (2.5 miles), Craster (6.5 miles) or the bustling hub of Seahouses (5 miles). Linked by an extensive coastal path and plenty of pristine beaches, there are so many fantastic seaside spots here to be discovered. Whilst pups are welcome to roam free throughout the majority of the year, pay close attention to bird breeding seasons which may incur some doggie restrictions.

Wonderful little converted forge with ample room for both of us and the dog, fenced off garden area. Beautiful location slightly remote but close to amenities and beautiful beaches. We have previously stayed at The Forge and were delighted with our stay on the first occasion and that's why we chose to return. The bed is wonderfully comfy and even though the property is compact, the fact that it still offers a bath is wonderful after a long day of walking. I'm sure we will be back to visit The Forge again. Property smaller than anticipated and dark inside. Needs another window. Dog friendly but fence to sheep field not dog secure. So unable to leave door into garden open.

The pictures on the website make the cottage look bigger than it is and the garden look bigger than it is. It was still comfortable but a bit of a shock when we first arrived. Perfect location comfortable and well equipped though.

Very easy - great place. A floor plan would have helped for the property. Logs were missing and we couldn't get hold of anyone to get any.

Compact and comfy. Good central location. Really like Tughall Steads as a location. Everyone is friendly in the nearby cottages and its nice to have people about, but at night the place is dark and peaceful. The stars are amazing. We spent a few evenings just sitting in the garden with our bottle of wine, star gazing.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Forge and fell in love with it from the start. Although small we weren't short on space and was incredibly cosy. The kitchen was well stocked. The welcome bag was a beautiful and well thought out touch as well! We only have two things that we'd like to point out: the hot water wasnt enough for a full bath despiteRead more not using it for anything else and we had to use kettle of hot water to fill it properly. And the fire is not safe to use as the door does not close properly! and should be checked. We checked for some logs as noted in the handbook but sadly there were none which wasn't a problem but it would have been a nice touch even for the first fire, as even summer nights get cold. Despite these we had a lovely stay and would love to be back again soon. Hide
