Take a trip to the idyllic seaside town of Bamburgh in the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and stay in a cosy two-bed property with solid oak flooring, an open-plan living area and a sheltered garden. With a spectacular Anglo-Saxon castle on your doorstep plus sandy beaches and scenic dog walking routes surrounding you, there will be plenty to keep you busy when you''re not relaxing with your feet up in the lounge.

The ground floor of the property has an open-plan layout with warm tones and a hint of a coastal theme. Put a film on the TV and snuggle up on the sofas in the evening. Cook a homemade meal for your guests in the farmhouse-style galley kitchen with wooden surface tops and dine together at the table and chairs. There is also a separate laundry room. Upstairs is a family bathroom with a bath and a walk-in shower plus two bedrooms – a king-size and a twin room. Outside is a walled garden with a raised patio area and furniture.

During your stay in the heart of Bamburgh, you will have a handful of eateries, tea rooms and shops within 0.5 miles. But most impressively, the grand Bamburgh Castle, filled with knight’s armour and state rooms, which sits overlooking a golden sandy beach is also less than 0.5 miles away. Walk the coastal path to the nearby fishing village of Seahouses (3.5 miles), where you can hop on a boat to the Farne Islands. Further afield is Craster and the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle (both 13 miles).

The position of the cottage is ideal, as we are dog owners, and having dog friendly pubs and establishments so close by was brilliant. Just stepping out for lovely walks always within sight of the amazing Bambrugh Castle on what is probably the best beach in the UK within 5 minutes walk was amazing. The enclosed garden was private and very secureRead more for our furry friends. We certainly hope to return very soon. Hide

The property was spacious, furniture and fittings were to a high standard and it was well situated in Bamburgh close to pubs and restaurants. It was particularly good to have allocated parking in such a prime location.

The property was clean and comfortable. The location was central to the village, so easy access to facilities. However, as it was located behind one of the hotels, there was sometimes some noise and food smells. There were no views from the property, which wasn't a problem for us as we were out and about most of the time. A good place to be basRead moreed. There was also a small garden area, which was very pleasant. Hide

The entrance to the property was around the back which I knew but it was behind the Victoria Hotel and wasn't the nicest of environment's for accessing a property. The property information did not say that there was just one window in the living room with opaque glass, as outside the window there was the outside area of another property. There wasRead more one little window you could open but basically it was quite dark and smelt quite 'stale' in there. Unfortunately my daughter had wanted to do her revision in that room for her exams after half term, but it was so dark and unleasant that she couldn't study there. In the end we came home early so she could do some revision at home. I do think that this type of arrangement should have been explicit in the property information as it was quite unpleasant and not expected. I feel therfore that it was not good value for money having not spent a whole week there because of the low quality of that downstairs accommodation. Hide

Lovely house, great location. Could have done with the lawn being cut and the bbq and patio area being cleaner. Minor faults.
