This rural hideaway in the heart of the Welsh countryside is the perfect place for couples and families to switch off and relax. With picturesque walks from your front door and access to a shared, riverside meadow, you and the hounds will have ample space to stretch your legs and fill your lungs with fresh, country air. The nearby towns of Llandovery (9 miles) and Llandeilo (11 miles) are bursting with Welsh charm and make excellent doggy days out.
The 17th-century property is full of character, with striking timber beams, exposed stonework, and country-cottage decor. The ground floor has a sociable, open-plan layout, with a fitted kitchen and a table for sharing memorable mealtimes together. After dinner, sink into the sumptuous sofas, with your four-pawed chums curled at your feet, to read a book or watch a film on the Smart TV. On chilly evenings, light the wood burner to create a cosy atmosphere. Upstairs, discover the inviting double and twin bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities. To the front of the property is a private patio, where you can enjoy BBQs and al fresco meals, whilst your canine buddies snooze in the sunshine. You’ll also have access to a shared meadow that leads down to the river – the ideal spot for a picnic on a warm afternoon.
The historic market town of Llandovery has some fantastic, paw-friendly boutiques and cafes, as well as a regular farmers’ market selling delicious Welsh produce. From here, you can easily access the Cambrian Mountains, where you’ll find many ‘off the beaten track’ routes to explore with your hairy sidekicks. The Doloucothi Gold Mines (3 miles) are an extremely woof-welcoming attraction, with dogs allowed on the tours of the Roman mines and the miles and miles of footpaths through the estate.
