This beautifully restored former barn has ultra-flexible accommodation and a pet-positive approach so a couple or two friends and their entire canine family can have holiday fun together.

One of five converted barns, this versatile single-storey holiday home goes the extra mile to make every guest feel at home. A striking tiled floor links the contemporary kitchen, where there’s every self-catering essential, to a spacious lounge/diner which has welcoming sofas and a wood burner. In the light and airy wet room nearby there’s a double-ended bath and large shower area. A choice of sleeping options is available: by advance arrangement the super-king-size bed can be made up as two full-size singles or, if you prefer two separate sleeping spaces, there’s a quality sofa bed in the lounge which could be called into use. Up to three dogs are welcome to stay here (more may be permitted by prior arrangement) and they’ll love the large, enclosed private garden to the rear where the slate patio has outdoor furniture and a BBQ, and steps lead up to a lawn. To the front of the property, an open courtyard includes a covered area where guests can store beach gear.

The property is on a farm at the centre of a triangle formed by the pretty villages of St Tudy, Blisland and St Breward – each is within 2 miles and has a village store and pub. Holiday here and you are well-placed for walks on Bodmin Moor, the South West Coast Path, and an endless choice of gorgeous beaches; foodie-favourite Padstow is 16 miles away, while the traditional fishing village of Port Isaac –¬ home to the Doc Martin TV series – is less than 10 miles.

  • 1 super-king-size bedroom (can be converted to twin beds upon request)
  • 1 wet room with double-ended bath and walk-in shower, WC

We could not recommend Barneys Cottage enough, it really is a gem. It is a beautiful cottage, very clean and well kept, and ideal for privacy and dogs. This ticks all the boxes and is truly a great place to stay. It is located in an amazing off the beaten track yet easily accessible area with natural beauty all around. It is very spacious inside anRead mored equipped with everything you need. The shower is excellent and spacious. The outside is fabulous and private, not being over looked, and very large with so much room for a dog or dogs and children to run around play and exercise plenty, maybe around a third of an acre or more of land. The owners are extremely friendly and very helpful and made us feel most welcome. We have already booked our next stay here as a result. 10 out of 10. Hide

This is a really beautiful place to stay. The cottage is exceptionally clean and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The owners are lovely and are happy to help with any issues (we had a problem with the shower but this was quickly fixed). The garden is large and secure - fantastic for our three dogs! We were also able to use the very lRead morearge secure field next to the garden, which again our dogs loved! The cottage is in a fantastic location for exploring North Cornwall and particularly Bodmin Moor. It is also incredibly peaceful, no traffic sound, just the odd owl twit twooing through the night! Overall, we had a very relaxing stay. Hide

This property was everything we wanted and more. It was clean, well kitted out, and in fact a home from home. Having the log burner was also a wonderful extra and felt very cosy in the evenings. The owners were very friendly and made sure we had all we needed on arrival and came up to make sure we had had a good holiday and if everything was as wRead moree wanted on departure. This was by far one of the best propertys we have stayed in. We will definitely return to Barneys or one of the other cottages at this location. Hide

Weve stayed in many holiday cottages and Barneys cottage was by far the best one ever. Absolutely faultless. Everything you could ever need for your stay and very well decorated. The garden was perfect for our dogs and the owner very welcoming and helpful. Would love to go again one day soon.

Barney's cottage was a lovely place to stay and the garden was superb - well fenced so safe for our setters, lovely views and plenty of different seating areas. The only let down was the weather but still very glad to have stayed here. The Colquite Estate was an excellent place to walk the dogs - lots of different paths and lots of friendly fellow Read moredog walkers. Hide

The property was located down a narrow country lane . But had fantastic views from the large enclosed garden. Unfortunately the only downside was the slippery, slate steps and patio due to the rain. Green moss on the slate made it very slippy. Hand rail would be beneficial. Had to pay 30 per dog ( we took 3) Dogs had to kept on a lead at all timesRead more due to a working farm which is no problem but witnessed a man walking his dog off lead. At the end of the stay you are asked to strip the bed unfortunately when we did this there was several stains on the duvet. ( This should have been changed before we arrived) A few of the plates were chipped too. Hide
