Get the whole gang together at this sweet cottage in a pretty complex of properties in the heart of the village of Longhoughton. Sleeping five people across three bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, it's an excellent option for families or groups of friends looking for a real home-from-home to enjoy while they're discovering the captivating Northumberland coastline together. During the day, take your pups for walkies along the shore at Sugar Sands - one of the best beaches in Northumberland. In the evening, come home to your cosy cottage to play board games in front of the glowing wood burner while your pups snooze contentedly by your feet.

Step inside this idyllic retreat and you'll be greeted by a quaint and cosy lounge with traditional wood flooring and a beautiful stone accent wall. Take a moment to admire the lovely garden views before you head to the farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area to whip up some dinner for your loved ones. Gather everyone to eat at the corner nook dining table, or head out onto the deck and dine alfresco. After dinner, head back to the lounge to unwind with a good book in front of the wood burner while your pups sleep at your feet. At the end of the day, make your way to the ground-floor bedroom and you'll find a lovely space with twin zip-and-link beds (which can be made into a super-king-size on request) and a stylish feature fireplace. Upstairs, there are two more bedrooms - a gorgeous king-size and a cute single. Completing the layout, there's a contemporary family shower room.

Your pups are sure to love going to walkies at the magnificent Beadnell Bay (12 miles), and afterwards, you'll find several dog-friendly pubs in the village. Alternatively, head off on a hike at the iconic Bamburgh Castle (15 miles), which is perched atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the coast. Your pups are welcome to explore the extensive castle grounds.

Visted with our Great Dane and Siamese cat (pre-checked both were allowed) The cottage easily accommodated both of them along with 4 adults. It was very clean and welcoming to pets and people alike and was a nice easy walk to a dog friendly beach (lots of other dog friendly beaches within 10mins drive) very pretty enclosed front garden and rear patRead moreio garden meaning safe spaces for both pets to explore. We all enjoyed the holiday , Cottage has a lot of character , although some upgrades are required, Cottage dining is very tight for 5 guests , Some TLC required inside & out doors we felt for money paid .

The cottage was the perfect size for us as a couple, all the utensils , crockery and kitchen appliances were nearly new and the furnishings were top quality. It was probably the most comfortable stay we have had in a rental property. All credit to Trish and her husband. This is a fabulous little gem. Worked amazingly well for a multigenerational stay. Beautiful place, spotless and very well equipped. We will be coming back!
