  • Nestled deep within Sherwood Forest is this pet-friendly lodge with a hot tub
  • Perfect for couples and small families looking for a forest escape, surrounded by nature
  • Hire electric bikes locally and head off on the miles of cycle paths
Property code: 88427

Spend your days surrounded by trees, birdlife, wildlife and wildflowers then retire to your lodge to relax on the private decking in the bubbling hot tub.

Hidden away among the trees, you’ll never be far from nature or the legend of Robin Hood while you’re here. The lodge is perfect for a family who loves to roam the great outdoors seeking adventures with their four-legged friends but isn’t averse to a bit of luxury at the end of the day, relaxing in a hot tub.

The lodge is bright and airy and has a large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a Smart TV, a cosy wood burner-effect electric fire and patio doors out to the decking. There are two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin. The king has got a TV and an en-suite, so this is for the adults, while the kids get the twin room and the family bathroom. Outside, is a decked area with outdoor furniture and a hot tub where you can while away relaxing days and evenings.

Head to Sherwood Pines 6 miles away, where there are exhilarating mountain bike trails to ride, and kids can try their hand at bushcraft. Get back to nature with forest walking or have a go at the new mindfulness activity of forest bathing, good for the body and soul. Find the mighty Major Oak, which weighs an estimated 23 tons and is 33ft wide; folklore has it that Robin Hood and his Merry Men slept in there. If you haven’t had enough of trees, Clumber Park is 7.5 miles away and a great place for families. There are more than 3,800 acres of gorgeous parkland, heath, and woods to explore on foot or by bike (you can hire bikes there) or do a spot of den building, visit the Woodland Play Park, and take Fido to the dog-friendly cafe, Central Bark.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size bed and 1 twin

The place was brilliant, super clean and the hot tub was spotless, only recommendations i would say is the TV needs updated in the bedroom, the dining room has a perfect tv but the bedroom one is super small and outdated but its not a huge deal. Loved it, deffo will be back!

The place needs to be cleaner . We had a dog wee soaked Mat for our arrival that they were aware of because we had to go reception and tell them but then didnt even change it . They just apologised and said someone would . We had to leave it out on the decking! Hot tub temp button broken , that was disappointing . The lodge was good not luxury TheyRead more have blocked off all the nice walks nearby so cant go anywhere unless you have a car . Bed was amazing though . Overall a good trip . 6/10 Hide

The cottage was beautiful and very clean. The owners also left us a small box of chocolates which was very thoughtful. It was a great weekend away, we would certainly visit again. The only doubtful was the service/wifi being very intermittent but was it was nice to have a social media free weekend!

First time away with my dog. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The accommodation and surrounding area was fabulous. Was nervous about bringing the dog as he's only a puppy but was made to feel very welcome with his own towel and treats. Brilliant idea thankyou.

Beautiful cabin, lovely location, hot tub was wonderful. Cabin was fairly well equipped although not entirely clean. Lots of dog hairs from previous visitors, lots of spiders (I dont like spiders and one fell on me) and no response from the night warden when a very loud party was going on because of a wedding. Wouldnt mind the loudness had people nRead moreot been running past our cabin after 11pm. Also the wifi did not work. If you suggest plastic cups in the hot tub then these should also be provided Hide
