Spend your days surrounded by trees, birdlife, wildlife and wildflowers then retire to your lodge to relax on the private decking in the bubbling hot tub.
Hidden away among the trees, you’ll never be far from nature or the legend of Robin Hood while you’re here. The lodge is perfect for a family who loves to roam the great outdoors seeking adventures with their four-legged friends but isn’t averse to a bit of luxury at the end of the day, relaxing in a hot tub.
The lodge is bright and airy and has a large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a Smart TV, a cosy wood burner-effect electric fire and patio doors out to the decking. There are two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin. The king has got a TV and an en-suite, so this is for the adults, while the kids get the twin room and the family bathroom. Outside, is a decked area with outdoor furniture and a hot tub where you can while away relaxing days and evenings.
Head to Sherwood Pines 6 miles away, where there are exhilarating mountain bike trails to ride, and kids can try their hand at bushcraft. Get back to nature with forest walking or have a go at the new mindfulness activity of forest bathing, good for the body and soul. Find the mighty Major Oak, which weighs an estimated 23 tons and is 33ft wide; folklore has it that Robin Hood and his Merry Men slept in there. If you haven’t had enough of trees, Clumber Park is 7.5 miles away and a great place for families. There are more than 3,800 acres of gorgeous parkland, heath, and woods to explore on foot or by bike (you can hire bikes there) or do a spot of den building, visit the Woodland Play Park, and take Fido to the dog-friendly cafe, Central Bark.
