One of three charming, detached lodges set around a large fishing pond within unspoilt part of rural North Devon. Perfect for families, within walking distance of the local village pub (0.7 miles).
Tucked away in the North Devon countryside, this charming lakeside lodge is ideal for families and their canine companions who want to explore the best of coast and country. Situated on the outskirts of the village of Bradworthy, you’ll find it easy to relax in this peaceful position. Despite its rural location, you’re only 8 miles from the spectacular dramatic coastline of North Devon and Cornwall. So, whether your four-legged friend prefers walking through woodland, running across green fields or frolicking on sandy beaches, there will be something here to suit them.
Neutral tones, clean lines and vaulted ceilings help to accentuate the feeling of light and space in this lodge. Clean and modern, you’ll find it easy to relax here. On entering, you’ll find yourselves in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Whether you’re cooking up a hearty meal in the well-equipped kitchen, dining together or snuggling up in front of the wood burner, you can all spend quality time together in this wonderful space. The two bedrooms are both inviting with lake views; they share the family bathroom. Outside, enjoy a morning coffee or an evening meal on the gated, covered veranda that overlooks the lake.
You’re only 11 miles from popular seaside town, Bude, which has a choice of beaches, shops and eateries, as well as boats to hire on the canal, a children’s play park and mini-golf, so something for everyone. Perhaps you’d prefer to feel the wind in your hair (or fur!) and see the coast from a different angle, so follow the South West Coast Path in either direction to discover secluded, dog-friendly beaches along the coast. You might also enjoy a circular stroll from Morwenstow (8 miles) to the National Trust’s smallest property, Hawker’s Hut – not much bigger than a dog’s kennel!
