Ideal for any large group, this expansive property sleeps 16 guests at the heart of the Lake District National Park with easy access to mountain walks and gentle lakeside strolls.

Treat yourselves to a group getaway when you stay at this splendid holiday home for 16, which also welcomes a pair of pups with open paws. Set against the glorious, undulating backdrop of the Newlands Valley, the seven-bedroom property near Little Town, 5 miles from Keswick, is ideally located for anyone eager to get out and about in the great outdoors. Find fabulous dog walks right from the doorstep of this substantial stone cottage or organise excursions to Lake District locations that will set tails wagging.

Make your way up some steps into the house via the dining room, then take a few steps down into the kitchen to top up water bowls and serve doggy dinners. Whip up hearty holiday feasts for your large group to enjoy too; there’s also a utility space with a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Let your pals pad down the steps into the lounge to join you while you watch the Smart TV with the multi-fuel burner glowing. The family bathroom is at this level, while several steps down is a twin bedroom with a TV and an en-suite shower room. Climb one of two staircases to reach the additional bedrooms, including five king-size rooms, all with TVs and four with en-suite shower rooms. There is also a family room with a king-size bed and bunk beds. Spread out into the garden on fine days as your four-legged friends sniff the air; light the BBQ and soak up the scenery. There is space to store bicycles, plus plenty of parking.

Stride out from home with your happy hounds to reach Derwentwater, approximately 1 mile away. Energetic walkers can then tire furry feet out further on the 10-mile circuit of the lake. Or, take a 1-mile walk from home to the Catbells, with its stunning views out over the water.

Great property for a large group. We had 14 in the main house as well as 4 and a toddler in one of the cottages. 6 out of 7 bedrooms were big King en suites so every couple was happy. There is in fact some wi-fi but it is not very fast with 16 of you trying to use it. Enough pots/pans seats etc for everyone. An extra fridge would be handy. Would reRead morecommend and stay again! House is in a stunning location and provides walks straight out of the front door for options of the Newlands and surrounding mountains. Having a great number of bedrooms with all but one being ensuite adds for comfort. Well kept and plenty of parking. Will definitely return.

Great location. It feels more remote than it actually is which adds to the experience. It is in the midst of excellent walking country. The property is well equipped for larger parties, comfortable and the large dining table was greatly appreciated as we could all gather around and enjoy our food and socialise. We would certainly book it again
