With its truly idyllic location perched on the edge of Bengairn Loch in the scenic Dumfries and Galloway, this single-storey lodge offers peaceful accommodation for families and their pet. Enjoy many rooms with a view from this delightful eco-friendly home, which is located on a thousand-acre beef and sheep farm. Nearby you’ll have the charming village of Auchencairn 1 mile away, which has a shop, cafe, restaurant and beach. With space for four over its two bedrooms, this property is ideal for a family group or two couples holidaying together.

The interior is beautifully decorated with a well-chosen colour scheme and ultra-stylish fittings. You’ll enter into a light-filled open-plan living area complete with inviting sofas and a Smart TV for relaxing in the evenings. An electric wood burner is on hand for keeping everybody warm, and there’s a rug for cushioned doggie snoozes. The watery views over the loch from here are spectacular, and the floor-to-ceiling windows ensure you can absorb them fully. French doors from here lead out to the enclosed balcony, where you can sip a quality morning coffee made in the Tassimo machine while your pet lounges in the sun. Outside on the patio, soak your limbs in the hot tub, which again offers magnificent vistas over the loch. There’s also a seating area with a table and chairs, plus a fire pit to stoke up on those chilly evenings.

For dog-walking opportunities nearby you’ll be spoilt, with miles of established track around the farm, and 200 miles of stunning coastline looking out over the Solway Firth. The Loch Ken area (15 miles) offers some gorgeous walking trails and wild swimming in some of Scotland’s cleanest waters. The majestic Galloway Forest Park (20 miles) is a true dreamland for nature lovers of both the human and canine variety.
