This bijou Norwegian wooden lodge is set in 8.5 acres of grounds on the edge of the Quantock Hills, just 2.5 miles from the coastal town of Watchet. St Audries Bay is just 1.5 miles and is great for fossil hunting and wild swimming and is popular with local surfers in the winter. The historic West Somerset steam railway is within 1.25 miles and runs from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard. Head along the coast and visit Watchet (3 miles) with its marina, or the seaside town of Minehead (10.5 miles). Slightly further along the coast is the attractive village of Porlock (15.5 miles) and Porlock Wier. Dunster with its National Trust castle towering above it is a must-see (8.5 miles), as is Hestercombe Gardens (14 miles) near Taunton. There are also endless walking opportunities on the Quantock Hills, the coastal footpath, and Exmoor National Park all easily accessible.
This delightfully warm and cosy lodge is set in a tucked away position within the grounds of the owner's home and enjoys far-reaching views to the Quantock Hills. Step inside this single-storey retreat and into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and settle in for a snug evening in the lounge with a bottle of wine and a film on the Smart TV and relax after a long day. The kitchen is perfect for cooking a lazy breakfast, or a light supper. Completing the accommodation is a double bedroom with a TV/DVD and an en-suite Jack and Jill wet room that can also be accessed from the lounge/kitchen/diner.
Venture outside onto the raised decking with your morning coffee and soak up the views over the gardens and the Quantock Hills. It is also a perfect place to cuddle up under a blanket whilst watching the sun go down. You are very welcome to enjoy the attractive shared landscaped gardens with views towards Exmoor National Park and also enjoy a BBQ which has its own shelter and bench. Next to the lodge is a 5-acre paddock which is perfect for exercising your four-legged friend!
