Offering spectacular sea views, this lovely three-storey home in a pretty complex of properties faces the sands of Portreath Beach. Sleeping seven people over four bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, it’s the ideal accommodation option for families or groups of friends who want to spend their days surfing or walking their dogs along the South West Coast Path, and their evenings taking in the sea views from the balcony or meeting the locals in one of the village’s dog-friendly pubs.
Step inside and head on up to the first floor to rustle up some dinner in the stylish kitchen. Get the whole gang together to dine in the traditional dining room and then open up the patio doors and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony. Catch up on all the latest gossip while the stars come out, or head back indoors to slip onto a sofa in the lounge and watch your favourite TV shows while your pups snooze by your feet. When the day is done, you’ll find two bedrooms on the ground floor and two on the second floor. In the morning, treat yourself to a freshly brewed coffee at the seating area to the front of the property before taking your faithful friends for a stroll on the South West Coast Path.
Grab your hiking boots and take your pups on a wonderful walk along the peaceful 5.5-mile Portreath Branchline Trail to Illogan, which follows the route of the old Portreath Railway. Or, for a longer hike, walk the South West Coast Path all the way to Hayle (11.5 miles). Alternatively, take your pups out for a day with a difference at Healey’s Cyder Farm (12.5 miles), where they are allowed in all of the outdoor areas, as well as in the courtyard area of the farm’s restaurant.
