Enjoying enviable views of the countryside, which your canine companion will love just as much as you, this single-storey cottage is surrounded by nature, forest walks and pretty country villages steeped in history. This property offers a secluded getaway for up to four people and one four-legged friend to enjoy and is great for those who love walking or cycling. Let your hound lead the way as you cover the 6.5 miles between the cottage and the centre of the Forest of Dean or really walk his paws off and head 12 miles to the heart of the Wye Valley’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Inside the property is an inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner offering plenty of space to relax and for Fido to stretch out. The kitchen is equipped with all you need for a self-catering break and has a well-placed skylight to brighten the room. There is space for four around the dining table and plenty of room for your four-legged friend to sit too. A door leads out to two comfortable bedrooms, one with views out to the garden. A contemporary bathroom completes the accommodation with a shower over the bath and WC. Outside, your hound has his own enclosed garden with incredible views, while you have an al fresco dining space with charcoal BBQ.

If history is your thing, you’ll love the village of Blakeney which can be found just a mile away from the cottage. Here you’ll also find a dog-friendly pub for you and Fido to enjoy. For a truly beautiful sight, head 2.5 miles north of the cottage to Bradley Hill woodlands and tiptoe, or paw, through blankets of bluebells. You can also make your way to Lydney Park Gardens (7 miles away) where you’ll find a whole host of floral displays.

Fantastic place for a getaway. Ideal for a quiet remote weekend. You will need a car without a doubt. Beautiful views across the open countryside to the Severn. The cottage was comfortable and very well equipped. Good value for money and cosy inside.

Lovely location although near a main road once in the cottage you wouldnt know, but it wasnt that bad outside as you are a good way of the road. The cottage was nice and warm and had everything we needed for our stay, it says Valley Views but there are no views from cottage 2 due to the mobile home site being built adjoining the property. Easy to kRead moreeep clean as there are no carpets apart from the bedrooms so a quick mop was all it needed each day. Would stay again if we were in the area Hide

The cottage just above Blakeney village allows easy access to Forest of Dean attractions, and charming Ross-on-Wye, as well as a quick run into Gloucester (if you really miss the city) . The facilities are more than adequate and the cottage was clean when we arrived. A great stay.

We chose this property as it had the enclosed garden area which was great for our Sprollie pup. This was a home away from home with everything, plus more, required for self catering. Overall cleanliness good. Well laid out as small bungalow. Information on appliances, dos and dont and in case of Emergency all very clear. Own parking area. Didnt meeRead moret owners but contact details left should we have needed anything from them. Bottle of Prosecco left for our enjoyment which was a nice touch Hide

The best way to describe is a home from home. lovely quiet place to stay and enjoy the beautiful area. The property was clean and well presented. Had everything you could need and more. We stayed with our two little dachshund and they loved the place aswell. Will 100% be returning to explore more of the beautiful scenery and walks very local to theRead more property. For those who may be concerned, the location of the property is very good. Local shops and eatery within a 5 minute drive. Hide
