Overlooking miles of beautiful countryside, with incredible valley views and a tangle of nature trails for your favourite canine to sniff out, this semi-detached property is ideal for those looking to explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley alongside the wagging tail of their four-legged friend. This stone-built cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps up to four people, making it a great romantic retreat or family-friendly property. Unfortunately, your canine companion won’t be able to join you in your private hot tub to enjoy the spectacular views, but the enclosed decked terrace will give him the freedom to stretch out under the stars as you soak in the bubbles and relax.

Set on one level, the open-plan living space is stylish and comfortable with plenty of natural light flowing in through double doors that lead out to the decking. The living area come kitchen/diner is spacious, modern and kitted out with all you need to cater for you and your hound. The bright and airy bedrooms are also located on this floor as well as a contemporary bathroom with an over bath shower and WC. Outside is the perfect space for dining alfresco with a table, chairs and charcoal BBQ.

The historic and traditional village of Blakeney is a mile away from the property and was home to Thomas Sternhold, a groom of King Henry VIII's Robes. 4.5 miles away and on the north bank of the River Severn is the small but thriving town of Lydney. Here you will find the Dean Forest Railway and Lydney’s famous Park Gardens. The area hosts a number of family and dog-friendly country pubs that are the perfect place to retire to after a day on your feet, or paws, exploring the wealth of forest trails on offer.

The Cottage itself is great and is probably in a good location if you are ramblers. We are more of a family that likes picturesque towns/villages, quirky shops, welcoming and dog friendly pubs with character and good food. Consequently, found we had more driving to do than expected.

Lovely cottage stay. The host is very friendly and helpful. She gave advice on local spots to visit and pubs! Cottage was lovely and homely with amazing large hot tub to enjoy each day. WiFi is good and amenities all excellent. Local spots to visit all within half an hours drive (most places were 15 mins) with lots of places to visit with a baby anRead mored dog. Found a great local pub that was dog friendly too. Hide

Beautiful views, hot tub was lovely but as it was a hot day the temp was too hot and had to turn it down. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed. The owner was lovely allowed us to checkout an hour later and provided a fan to use when we asked for one. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

We had a lovely 5 night break. The hot tub was not overlooked and had an amazing view of the valley. The cottage was furnished very well, lots of storage and a lovely bathroom. Extra towels for the hot tub was a nice touch . There is only 1 pub open now in the village which does good beer but no longer serves food. But there is a chip shop. PavemenRead morets all the way to the pub but road is quite busy and good workout the way home as mostly uphill. It s a good base to explore the area. Hide

Lovely property and fantastic hot tub with an amazing view. Very friendly host and prompt text responses. We had a great time. White Hart nearby is worth a visit and its worth downloading the Blakeney fish & chip shop app to order online and collect when ready!

Enjoyed a lovely break in this fabulous cottage. Spacious, clean, private and well equipped. The hot tub was a fabulous addition and used a lot during our stay with views over the hills. A 10 minute drive to the forest parks and Lydney for supplies. Would recommend and stay there again.
