Sleeping six guests and welcoming two canine companions, this lodge is an idyllic retreat for a family or group of friends. With views of the farm below and the wider Teme Valley, it’s a tranquil place to return to after striking out across the countryside. The four-pawed members of your pack will love a day trip in the Malvern Hills, which you can be at the centre of in a mere 16.6 miles, and there’s a private hot tub to soothe tired feet when you return.
With it’s bright open-plan living space and fresh nature-inspired décor, inside the lodge is an oasis of calm where humans and dogs can enjoy putting their paws up in the evening. After a tasty home-cooked meal at the dining table, get comfortable on the sofas, where you can watch TV and browse the Wi-Fi for future adventures, with your hound curled happily at your feet. They have three bedrooms to choose from when it comes to sleeping arrangements. Once they’ve found the best spot, lay their bed out and then settle into yours, and enjoy a peaceful night of deep sleep. In the morning, take breakfast on the veranda, while kids and dogs play in the garden (though as it’s unenclosed, make sure to keep Lassie on the lead – there is a field available on-site for some free play).
When it comes to walkies, there are sprawling historical estates nearby with beautiful gardens and parks. Pack a picnic filled with treats and tidbits for your top dog, and head to Witley Court and Gardens (7 miles). Explore the magnificent ruins, wander through woodland, and let kids have a go on the play area. On a visit to the National Trust’s Brockhampton Estate (9 miles), tire your hound out with miles of trails, and then give muddy paws a rinse off under the handy outdoor taps.
