If you’re looking to lead an activity-filled holiday by the coast then this dog-friendly apartment, 1 mile from the centre of Westward Ho!, could be your new favourite getaway. It’s perfect for large families or groups keen to walk, surf or swim their way around the North Devon AONB and Hartland Devon Heritage Coast.

This first-floor apartment is located in a small holiday park that borders the burrows and dunes leading to the coast. The apartment’s stylish, fresh and light interior is dressed in nautically-themed soft furnishings with plenty of room to relax. Bring everyone together in the comfort of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner for indulgent meals, film nights or simply to unwind with a glass of fizz in hand. After a long day, you’ll need somewhere to rest your head, and it’s only a few pawprints from here to the welcoming arms of an en-suite king-size bedroom and two twin bedrooms, all of which stand near to the family bathroom. Don’t be afraid to throw open the large French doors in the lounge when the sun has its hat on to enjoy al fresco drinks on the balcony.

Westward Ho! is popular with walkers and watersports lovers keen to sample rugged coastline and sandy beaches. The Royal Devon Golf Club (0.5 miles) is England’s oldest course, and for a walk with a different kind of stick, the wonderful South West Coast Path takes in indescribable sea views and rural terrain. Bideford and Appledore (within 3.5 miles) offer numerous cultural, historic and natural attractions, while the plains, marshes and dunes of Northam Burrows Country Park (1.5 miles) are a haven for marine wildlife.

We had a lovely week at Surf Bay, the apartment was lovely and clean, well equipped and comfortable, would definitely stay there again.

Great location and good value for money, the view from the veranda was great and we spent many mornings and evening enjoying the space. Could do with a few more cooking utensils, especially for nonstick pans, like wooden spoons and selection of chopping cooking knifes, as we are a family that likes to cook.
