This charming cottage, situated 4 miles from the town of Keswick, is perfect for your little family – including up to two four-legged members, of course! Sleeping four across two calming and cosy bedrooms, you’ll all soon be exploring the fantastic sights that are just outside your door. You only have to go as far as the door to see stunning views of Skiddaw over the shared garden, while Derwentwater is just 4 miles away and the pups will love wandering around the miles of lake. Then when it’s time to go home, relax with an al fresco evening tipple as the sun goes down.
The property, which is one of three cottages on the plot accompanied by another property, is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a family meal – just watch out for puppy-dog eyes looking for crumbs – and the dining area makes an ideal spot for enjoying your food before heading out into the countryside. Sink back into the large sofas in front of the gas fire after a long walk and let the hounds snuggle up by your feet to rest.
Pop into the onsite gallery and tearoom for a complimentary drink and peruse the artwork – you’ll get 10% off, too. When you’re ready to get out and explore, take the kids to Keswick and start the 2-mile Keswick Spy Mission Treasure Trail, with the dogs in tow to help sniff out clues. The Derwent Pencil Museum (3.5 miles) provides a unique and informative morning out, while Grasmere (17.5 miles) offers some famous selfie spots and the most superb gingerbread at the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. Stroll the grounds of Mirehouse (7 miles) and take in the wonderful views of Bassenthwaite Lake, or watch the kids challenge themselves on the adventure playground.
