This beautiful property, situated just 4 miles from the historic market town of Keswick, is perfect for your entire family – including up to two four-legged members! Sleeping four across two warm bedrooms with plenty of space for the pups to snooze, it won’t be long before you’re all up and ready to explore the beautiful countryside just outside your door. Stroll around the Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden (4 miles), the inspiration behind Mr McGregor’s garden in Peter Rabbit, before returning home to enjoy an al fresco drink in the shared gardens looking out at the spectacular views of Skiddaw.
The cottage, which is one of a complex of four properties, has the ideal mix of traditional and contemporary styling. The kitchen diner is bright with plenty of space to rustle up a hearty breakfast to prepare for the day ahead, while exposed beams and comfy sofas in the lounge invite you to sink back in front of the stone fireplace with gas fire, the pups snuggled up at your feet. Further into the cottage, the bedrooms are light but peaceful; wake up among soft, pretty decor and take in the morning with a coffee in the enclosed garden.
After you’ve had your complimentary drink and browsed the onsite gallery, it’s time to head out. Keswick has plenty to do, including the Derwent Pencil Museum (3.5 miles) and the market that dates back to 1276. Sniff out clues along the 2-mile Keswick Spy Mission Treasure Trail that starts in the market square and get the kids thinking. Derwentwater (4 miles) is often called one of the most visually impressive natural wonders in the region and is perfect for dogs, and the Ullswater Steamers (20 miles) give the entire family a unique opportunity to explore the lake and wildlife in the area.
