Located on the outskirts of the Peak District, within a 26-acre estate on the grounds of a former 500-year-old hotel, this holiday home is a perfect retreat for friends or family eager to explore the surrounding countryside alongside their canine companion. With a blend of contemporary comfort and rural charm, you’ll find everything you need for an enjoyable stay at this homely cottage, including an enclosed private garden for al fresco dining.

After an active day, the lounge is a cosy space for the family to unwind with Fido curled up at your feet. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up a feast, with meals served in the dining room hosting comfortable seating for six. Upstairs, the bedrooms offer delightful views across the estate, accompanied by a stylishly tiled family bathroom equipped with a bath and a separate shower. A cloakroom completes the internal layout. Please note that there are several steps between rooms on the ground floor and steep stairs to the first floor. Outside, enjoy the enclosed garden with a BBQ and garden furniture, inviting guests to relax while Rover explores his new surroundings. Guests are encouraged to explore the wider estate grounds at their leisure, with plenty for curious hounds to investigate along the way.

An ideal haven for pups and people who love the great outdoors, the surrounding region offers numerous treks and trails to get tails wagging. Just 4 miles away, the Peak District National Park begins, where rugged highlands and beautiful wooded valleys await your exploration. A mile further brings you to Broomhead Reservoir, where wonderful waterside walks await. After a day of adventure, refuel in the local village pub (100 metres), where great food and a warm reception for furry friends will greet you at the bar.

There are a lot of good things to be said about this property - it's in a wonderful, peaceful countryside location, the grounds of the hotel are stunning, you have access to its bar/restaurant facilities, & the buildings that house the holiday cottages are fascinating if you enjoy architecture & history. However, apart from a relatively new bathrooRead morem, the decor is dated, so it's not the place to be if you prefer 'all mod cons', although it is spacious, comfortable and has a cosy feel. Hide
