Wet dogs are no longer a bad thing! After a nationwide search and over 7,000 public votes, we can finally crown the UK’s cutest wet dog.
As part of our Dog of the Month competition, we tasked the nation to send in the best pictures of their beloved pooches when wet. From bath time to playtime at the beach, and frolics in the river - we were definitely not disappointed with the entries!
We had an incredible response to our competition, with over 500 entries from owners showing their funniest and cutest snaps of their wet doggos.
Read on to see how we did it – and which wet pooch has been crowned the UK’s cutest.
The finalists
It was a hard task to cut all of the amazing entries down, but we (somehow) managed to collate the top 40 entries, before whittling these down to the final eight.
So, let’s take a look at the top eight cutest wet dogs in the land:
Our top eight finalists are:
- Arthur, cavalier King Charles spaniel, seven years old
- Jasper, cavapoo, one year old
- Skye, working cocker spaniel, six months
- Bonnie, border collie golden retriever cross, three years old
- Ruby, cocker spaniel, eight months old
- Peggy, miniature longhaired dachshund, six years old
- Peggy and Maggie, schnocker pup and cockapoo, one and four years old
- Rory, shih tzu cross, three years old
So many worthy winners to choose from! How could we possibly decide?
The competition
After we had selected our final eight, we enlisted the help of the public to decide who their ultimate favourites were.
We had a tough quarter final and semi final (who can choose between them?!) before our final two pooches were selected – Arthur and Jasper – who then went head-to-head in another public vote to be crowned the nation’s cutest wet dog.
A whopping 7,000 votes later, who took the crown?
And the winner is …
The winner of our Dog of the Month competition is *drumroll please*…
Arthur!
