Holidays in Thornham

Pet-friendly holiday cottages in Thornham, Norfolk

To the east of Hunstanton on the Norfolk coast lies the small and welcoming village of Thornham. Between the village and the sea is Thornham Marshes, an important habitat for wildfowl and birds of prey. The beautiful remoteness of the saltmarsh and salt flats are best explored on foot, straight from the village. Bird watchers will also enjoy visiting nearby RSPB Titchwell Marsh (1.5 miles) and NWT Holme Dunes (5 miles) both of which offer habitats for a wealth of bird species. Unsurprisingly, Thornham is a popular location for birdwatchers, walkers, photographers and artists, given its beautiful setting and peaceful surroundings. Golfers are well served too by the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club in Brancaster (3.5 miles) and the Hunstanton Golf Club in Old Hunstanton (4.5 miles).

If you’re looking for a restful holiday with your pet, you’d be happy in one of our dog-friendly cottages in Thornham. The village itself has a number of eateries, including some traditional pubs where you can warm the cockles after days exploring the local area. Take a trip to Hunstanton to get your fix of traditional seaside fun, and enjoy days out at Wells-next-the-Sea (12.5 miles), and Blakeney Point (18 miles), the latter of which is home to England’s largest grey seal colony. Take a look at our Canine Cottages pet-friendly holiday cottages in Thornham, and you’ll soon be here discovering the sights of this wonderful part of Norfolk for yourself.
