This idyllic 19th-century property is the perfect location for you to escape the humdrum of everyday life and get lost in the magic of this charming corner of Wales, all with your favourite four-legged friend at your side, of course. With fabulous footpaths and beaches at your fingertips, including 823 square miles within the national park, you’ll find a huge variety of walks that will take your breath away and keep your dog’s tail wagging with delight.

The quirky cottage still has many original features and the flagstone floors make cleaning up pawprints nice and easy. Natural light floods the lounge at the heart of this cottage, where you can snuggle up on the comfy sofa after a long walk and your canine chum can doze by the wood burner. To the front of the property, you can enjoy morning coffee on the bistro table and chairs.

There are plenty of walks directly from your doorstep, and the dog-friendly pebbled beach of Llwyngwril is less than half a mile away. This is a beautiful spot for a stroll in the early morning sunshine, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountainous countryside. If you and your hound fancy a challenge, why not spend a day climbing Cader Idris? It’s one of Snowdonia’s most popular mountains for walkers, as there are several routes to choose from and the summit offers magnificent views for miles. There is also a couple of great dog-friendly eateries convenient to the start of the paths. If it’s long sandy beaches you’re after, head to Aberdovey, just 11.5 miles away. Here you’ll find beautiful unspoilt scenery, plus some lovely independent shops and cafes. Although there are dog restrictions on part of the beach, there’s a fantastic dedicated area where woofers can run to their hearts’ content.

Y Bryn is a well equipped and comfortable cottage that sits in a peaceful position. It's ideal for relaxation and exploration of the Welsh coast on foot, by train or in the car and makes a good base for a holiday to escape the chaos of city life. It's well worth making use of the train to get wonderful views of the coast, the Dovey, Mawddach & DwyrRead moreyd / Glaslyn estuaries. Lots of opportunities for the ornithologist, rambler and those who enjoy narrow gauge steam railways. N.P. Beasley, Leicester Hide

Lovely cottage on a quiet hillside location. Good for bunking down for a cosy few days with your special people. Great local community, who were very friendly. I enjoyed taking a few days for quiet work days and walks along the coastal path

Lovely cottage, very well equipped. Local pub, village shop and lovely walks from the cottage. Owners on hand if needed. There is a train station in the village (request stop), the railway is a good way to travel and see the coast. But: Barmouth bridge will be closed in autumn for restoration.

Lovely cottage, with everything we needed for a week away. Local pub doing decent bar snacks just down the road, lovely walks from the cottage and a village shop for newspapers and other essentials. Parking in the village was easy. Locals friendly and helpful with tips.
