Close to Ironbridge yet tucked away, this romantic retreat offers home comforts and an elevated deck over the stream below. Walk to the pub, visit attractions, and enjoy outdoor activities.

Pack your bags and head to Shropshire for a romantic retreat with your four-pawed third wheel by your side. Spend time exploring the surrounding area with its National Trust properties, rivers and well-trodden paths before enjoying all that this shepherd’s hut has to offer. Sip drinks on the elevated decked area which sits above a stream and treat your pup to titbits from the sizzling BBQ.

Sitting amid woodland and countryside, tails will wag as soon as you park and wander down to the door. The lovely, natural-looking, wooden interior is the perfect place to relax, complete with a wood burner. After plating up either inside or out, take a seat on the sofa or continue your night alfresco and watch your dog enjoy the extended lawn. Drift off to sleep on the welcoming double bed which has an en-suite shower room and lovely views. There is shared access to a laundry room and storage for outdoor equipment.

A 5.5-mile trip will take you to Ironbridge where a host of places to eat, drink and explore await. Treat all members of your party to tasty treats and those with a passion for history can visit the handful of museums before taking a waterside walk and a stroll over the world-famous bridge. Venture 24 miles into the heart of the Shropshire Hills AONB and tread paths, play fetch and even try hang gliding for a fun day out before returning to the working farm to say hello to the friendly animals there.

We had a wonderful weekend staying in this small but perfectly formed corner of paradise! The hut had everything we could have needed for our stay and was so quiet and peaceful. Our hosts were exceptionally welcoming, even leaving the log burner lit and lights on for our arrival and providing suggestions for walks in the area. Our cocker spaniel waRead mores delighted by the amount of walking available on the doorstep (and by the fire in the evenings!). Very much recommend a stay at Wrens Nest! Hide

Perfect little getaway as a couple with our dog. Very cosy and warm once with the wood burner and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Derek was lovely and very welcoming and Molly the dog came to check on us as we were leaving. Will definitely be staying again.
