You’ll also be just over 30 miles from the North Devon coast, with its infamous long sandy beaches and surfing hotspots.

Snuggle up on the comfy sofas, with Fido and Rover curled at your feet, or on a summer’s evening pour yourself a glass of wine and unwind on the patio. French doors join the living space to the garden, meaning the pups can happily drift in and out to the enclosed courtyard. There’s also a handy hallway and cloakroom to store all your dog-walking gear.
Wimbleball Lake (7 miles away), nestled in the hills of Exmoor National Park, is a haven for hounds. You’ll find wide open spaces, as well as a labyrinth of walking trails to investigate. Kids will love the play area and, if you’re feeling adventurous, hire a kayak, boat or board and head out on the water. The nearby market town of Tiverton (7 miles away) has some lovely independent shops to peruse, as well as a fantastic selection of traditional country pubs that welcome four-legged guests. After lunch, enjoy a stroll along the historic canal and look out for the horse-drawn barge. You should also add a trip to Knightshayes to the agenda. The beautiful National Trust house is 6 miles away and the pups can join you in the impressive formal gardens.
