Escape to the quintessential village of Sandleheath in Hampshire for a staycation filled with doggy delights. This gorgeous property sleeps couples along with two beloved hounds, welcoming you back after a busy day with a roaring fire and a wonderfully soft sofa that’s perfect for snuggling up on with a glass of wine. The owners have even provided a few welcome treats with an Alice in Wonderland twist, a tribute to nearby Lyndhurst, home to the inspiration behind Lewis Carroll’s most famous work.

 

Cheerful, welcoming and lovingly equipped with plenty of home comforts, your holiday abode is an ideal place to relax. Pop a log on the fire and let sleeping dogs lie, bustling through to the adjoining kitchen to prepare a delicious feast for two. Perch at the bijou-style table or head outside to bask in the heavenly scent of lavender in the country-cottage garden, devouring homemade delights made from the finest local ingredients. Take long, invigorating showers in the shower room before retiring for the night, snuggling under the crisp sheets in the pretty king-size bedroom. There’s private parking for one car, and the nearest pub is a short 0.5 miles away for the nights you don’t feel like cooking.

 

Let Rover take the lead and embark on scenic walks through the stunning New Forest, venturing by car to reach pretty towns and villages such as Lyndhurst, 15.5 miles away, with its array of shops and eateries. Fordingbridge is 1.5 miles away, a town mentioned in the Domesday Book and which is still in possession of one of the original Magna Carta manuscripts. Enjoy riverside walks or a spot of fishing on the Avon, sample delicious local fare, and visit the fascinating museum to soak up past tales of smuggling and colourful characters.

Very nice place. Very good food package with enough to satisfy you until you can shop. Good location for access to New Forest and surrounding areas. This was our second visit and we would be happy to visit again .

The owner was very nice and did us a great welcome pack. The cottage was in a good location and had most things we wanted. The tv had Netflix which was like home from home.

We had such a lovely stay in Willow Tree cottage over new year. Its so cosy & the bed is super comfy. You have everything you need & the fridge was full of goodies too which was a lovely surprise. Thanks Debbie, Im sure we will be back.

Lovely cosy cottage, well placed for visiting the wider area but also had local pubs, shops etc The welcome goodies much appreciated, breakfast sorted . Slept well and dogs settled well

The cottage was comfy, quiet and thoroughly perfect for us and our dog. We needed for nothing, however, having the shop next door was perfect if we wanted something . Clean, comfy and a hone from home with all the beauty of the New Forest Close by.

On arrival at 3.40pm we found the gate bolted. Fortunately the lady in the shop was able to let us in. Access to the property is down three very steep steps aided by a wobbly handrail. The details of Willow Tree cottage should clearly state that it is NOT suitable for people with any degree of disability or have mobility issues. Had we known this wRead moree would not have booked the property. There are also steep steps up to both the kitchen and the patio doors. It is on a busy road. Very disappointing. Hide

Willow Cottage was absolutely perfect for our short stay with our 2 dogs. The lovely secluded garden was an absolute bonus and the host made us all feel so very welcome indeed with many home comforts and thoughtful extras like a welcome pack, games, books etc. Would def come back again another time!!

Nice comfortable cottage with secure garden for the dog. Good central location with plenty of local walks. A car is definitely needed to reach shopping and eating places.

Without a sensible sized wash hand basin you couldnt include bathroom in the description and it is very dark in the living room. Not good value for money.

Excellent accommodation with a secure garden for the dog and a sun trap to sit out in. Debbie the owner left an amazing welcome pack covering all immediate supplies that anyone could wish for. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Not ideal for people with disabilities due to access and steps. Shower room very small and narrow, and photographs of property deceiving. Good location and well stocked shop next door. Lots of good eating places locally. Owner left a very generous welcome pack.

Nicely situated and owners left a very thoughtful welcome package. Everything is clean and tidy and the garden is lovely if the weather permits! The log fire is a great addition, especially as was rather unseasonably cold the week of our stay. Very comfortable bed. Also, fantastic homemade cakes in the store just next door - a lovely bonus.

We had the most amazing week, the cottage was just what we wanted - comfortable and well-equipped. It was advertised as dog-friendly and it certainly was, the owner even leaving us a roll of dog poo bags, some treats and bowls and supplying some lovely towels for the dogs too. We had such a lovely stay over the New Year. We felt very welcome, especially with all the finishing touches (to many to mention), including a Christmas tree and a stocking with chocolates in we felt spoilt, Great cottage and host I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Perfectly positioned for the New Forest. Immaculate and Imaginative Interior combined with Welcoming Host and friendly P.O./shop adjacent. Well equipped, well decorated, clean and comfortable. There was a full breakfast and wine left for us. Debbie contacts us prior to the visit and wax available if needed. We both thoroughly recommend Willow Tree Cottage.
