Retreat to this romantic barn conversion right in the heart of scenic Dartmoor National Park and take two of your four-legged friends with you. Relish the tranquil rural setting, just over 2 miles from Widecombe in the Moor. Follow miles of footpaths from the property, which welcomes two guests, as well as a pair of pups. Head off on day trips to the English Rivera and return at the end of the day to soak up the sunshine in your enclosed garden or cosy up inside by a roaring wood burner.
Enter the 15th-century barn via the external stairs and find yourself in an embracing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with exposed beams and woodwork, and a high vaulted ceiling. Light the wood burner, settle down to a film on TV with your contented canines close by, and simply enjoy being together. Prepare meals for hounds and humans in the kitchen and spin damp doggy towels in the washing machine. Your bathroom is also on the ground floor. As night falls, head up the wooden staircase to your inviting mezzanine bedroom, which does have some reduced head height. Dine outside in your private garden on warm days and toss a ball across the lawn for your happy hounds.
Lace up your walking boots, call your chums and head out to walk beside the East Webburn River or go hill climbing. Pick up a section of the Two Moors Way: head 9.5 miles to Chagford, pausing for a while at the Bronze Age settlement at Grimspound. Drive 18 miles to the coast at Maidencombe to spend time on its quiet, sandy beach, surrounded by red sandstone cliffs. Here your furry friends can run on the sand, sniff in rock pools and play in the lapping shallows all year round.
