If huge open spaces and deep wild forests are your pet’s idea of doggie heaven, then boy do we have the holiday cottage for you. This lovely farmhouse is located slap bang in the middle of the North York Moors National Park, a rural paradise with plenty to keep nature lovers and energetic canines happy. There are stunning views from the house, and that coupled with a gigantic garden and light-and-airy interior makes this the ideal location for your trip. The property, which accommodates up to six humans and two doggies, is in a complex of five dog-friendly properties of various sizes.

The house has a traditional look with its gorgeous stone exterior. This continues inside with the impressive cast iron range and low beamed ceilings. Mod cons such as underfloor heating and sophisticated decor contribute to the luxury feel. When you’re all dog tired after a long day out exploring, run a bubble bath and soak in the roll-top while your pet makes the most of the bathroom’s steamy warmth. When you’re done, you can relax by the wood burner until you get sleepy. Outside, enjoy morning coffee on the stone patio on mild days while the dog runs around on the lawn.

When it’s time to venture out, you’ll find plenty of trails starting from the front door that pass through the pretty surrounding villages. Church Houses, the hamlet in which the farmhouse is located, is famous for its daffodil walks. The market towns of Helmsley (14 miles) and Pickering (16 miles) are both worth a trip and the sea at Whitby is just 25 miles away.

We had a brilliant stay and couldn't recommend this cottage enough. It was spotless, well furnished and in a lovely spot in the middle of the moores. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Excellent holiday, in a clean, comfortable reasonably well priced cottage. Well located for hiking, visiting the coast. Recommend for anyone who wants to see Yorkshire.

Loved our stay. The cottage is beautiful and well equipped. Nice extras such as bread, milk, some condiments, and washing up bits, which are often missing when self-catering. The location is beautiful, very quiet. Lovely walks and easy to access wider North Yorkshire attractions. We frequented the pub which is very handy and the new shop is lovely.Read more Had a fantastic stay. Hide

A great place to stay in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire with numerous walks to do on your door step. The cottage is beautifully presented with all the amenities you need , and its an added bonus having a great pub serving lovely food across the road..

Stunning location in beautiful Farndale! Approx 10 paces to good village pub that serves decent pub grub. Nice garden with lots of birds + bunnies! Cottage is modern inside with decent kitchen + large bathrooms. Sitting room a disappointment, not a very welcoming or comfortable place to return to at the end of each day.
