Ideal for families and couples discovering the glorious countryside of the Scottish Borders, this elegant period property provides relaxing accommodation for four guests, with plenty of space for two dogs as well. Perfect for eager walkers and cyclists, this lovely ground-floor property is also within easy reach of the magnificent Northumberland National Park.

Heading into this bright and airy property, the light, fresh and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner makes a wonderfully relaxing main living area. The lounge has plenty of seating and a smart TV, while the dining area is perfect for sharing a favourite meal which you can rustle up in the fully equipped kitchen. Exploring further, the cottage has a stylish shower room and two spacious, high-ceilinged bedrooms: a twin and a double, each with feature windows. Heading outside, the fully enclosed and raised patio makes a charming spot for dining alfresco or stargazing into the night. The fully enclosed garden is also visited by a range of local wildlife: you may catch glimpses of deer, rabbits, red squirrels and an array of birds.

The picturesque village of Denholm (2.5 miles) has plenty of amenities and great places to eat and drink. From the doorstep, there are miles of wonderful walks for your dog to lead you on, with the Borders Abbey Way leading through Jedburgh, Kelso, Melrose and Dryburgh (all within 17.5 miles). These cheerful towns feature a range of dog-friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants and are known for their historic abbeys. Heading south you can explore the Whitelee Moor and Kielderhead National Nature Reserves (both within 12 miles) which can be found on the Northumberland side of the border.

My aunt and I had a good and relaxing week. Access to property very good and provide great enclosed outside spaces - patio and grassed areas. Lots of car parking. Our hosts could not have been more friendly and helpful when needed. For nature lovers, walkers and those looking for a retreat - amazing.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a very pleasant and comfortable stay at the Coach House. We felt that the accommodation could be improved by better clothes storage space in the double bedroom, including a facility to hang clothes. Also, while the living area received plenty of daylight, at night, the light from the standard lamps is weak. Also, a suRead moren umbrella for the table on the decking in needed to be able to sit and/or dine comfortably and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful setting. Hide

Main room bright and spacious, shower cubicle / shower is a good size allowing someone with mobility problems space to move. Lovely peaceful area, but has easy access to the main road for visiting all the areas attractions. We had a very enjoyable week.

The cottage was in a beautiful location and was quiet yet still accessible by car to lots of interesting places such as Hawick, Jedburgh and Denholm. A 25 minute drive took you to Tweedbank railway station so you could catch the train into Edinburgh. Plenty of parking here and free! The cottage was spacious with every convenience you could want. A beautiful rural cottage at a beautiful farmland, we could have not asked for more. The coach house is in perfect condition, clean and high quality. There is nothing better than waking up to see horses and sheep from the patio door of the living room.

The accomodation was very comfortable and had both semi-skimmed and whole milk in the fridge when we arrived along with salt and cooking oil in the cupboard. There was a supply of bin bags, washing powder and cleaning utensils.. A fluffy Bath Sheet and two hand towels was provided per person. We had helpful advice from the MacTaggarts who lived in Read morethe adjacent building. The location was ideal with several walks nearby along quiet roads, I did a four mile walk with dogs through fields and forest Hide
