A former coach house, this gorgeous property has embraced its new lease of life with style and flair. Boasting flawless design, it is the perfect romantic retreat.
Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and hide away in this wonderful cottage, ideal for a couple and their beloved canine companion. Cosy and compact, small paws are best-suited to this property, giving them enough space for their thickest blankets and comfiest cushions. By day explore Middleham Castle, 200 yards from the doorstep, and in the evenings return to light the wood burner and snuggle down.
Inside the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner the decor is bright and sophisticated, furnished in neutral tones for a calm and relaxing ambience. Your hound will be basking in the lap of luxury, with a heated flagstone floor to warm them up after long walks. While they curl up in front of the fire, prepare dinner together and sit round the table made for two. Settle on the sofa and watch TV or share ideas for tomorrow’s adventures over a glass of wine. At the end of the night, put down your dog’s very best bed and head upstairs. Unwind with a hot shower, behind a glass wall in the bedroom, then wrap up in a robe and lie back under the vaulted ceiling. In the morning, take coffee onto the private patio, overlooked by the castle’s stone walls.
Middleham village sits on the cusp of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and a mere 2-mile drive will take you inside for trails through stunning scenery, from fells and reservoirs to fields and woodland. For a lovely dog-friendly day trip, visit the nearby village of Harmby and its waterfall (3 miles), then spend the afternoon wandering through the ruins of Jervaulx Abbey (4 miles) with Lassie on a lead. Afterwards head back to the cafe to sit out in the pretty cafe courtyard with a cake, bringing along a treat for your top dog to enjoy.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
