Just half a mile from a popular dog-friendly dining pub, this is a wonderful base for following the Mortimer Trail and exploring the Welsh Marches, with the path of Offa’s Dyke passing nearby. Your dogs can help you explore the Shropshire Hills (10 miles) to the north, and the outskirts of the Brecon Beacons National Park (16.5 miles) to the south. There are plenty of dog-welcoming towns nearby, including Hay-on-Wye (16 miles), renowned for its literature festival and second-hand bookshops, and Hereford (21 miles), with its beautiful cathedral housing the Mappa Mundi. Also nearby are Presteigne (3.5 miles), Kington (4 miles), Ludlow (18 miles) and Knighton (9.5 miles). Dogs can also accompany you in the gardens of Croft Castle (9.5 miles) and Berrington Hall (14 miles).
