Originally the village cobbler’s shop, this pretty barn conversion has direct access to the grounds of Chatsworth House. With one double bedroom, this holiday home is the perfect destination for couples seeking a tranquil break with their pet. If you do want to holiday with friends, then the neighbouring property can be booked to accommodate up to four guests in total. Stroll to the dog-friendly village pub or take in views across the Peak District from the challenging ridgeway walk across Curbar Edge.

This delightful stone cottage offers cosy accommodation with traditional features including exposed beams and brickwork. The light and airy living room has a comfortable sofa to cuddle up on after a day exploring the area, while your hound rests at your feet. The dining table is perfect to seat two for a casual supper prepared in the compact but well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs is the pretty double bedroom with en-suite. Enjoy the patio area as your furry friend stretches out in the sunshine.

Your canine companion will feel like top dog as you leave your front door and step straight onto the trail that takes you to Chatsworth House. Take in the lovely scenery on one of the walks from nearby Baslow (2 miles) where you can stroll along the riverbank or stretch those paws as you climb up to Curbar Gap for sensational views across the valley. Make sure you buy one of the famous puddings in Bakewell (5 miles) as you and your canine companion explore the medieval town. Have a ball as you and your furry friends ride the vintage tram at Crich Tram Museum (18 miles), hop off to discover the woodland walk and sculpture trail and enjoy a hearty lunch in the restored public house.

A lovely cosy barn conversion in the hamlet of Curbar, just below Curbar Edge, with fantastic walks from the accommodation and close by. A recently refurbished kitchen is well equipped and the rooms were warm and welcoming. Dog friendly.

Upper Barn is really cosy, comfortable and characterful. Great walks on the doorstep, three excellent pubs within walking distance and close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House too. The barn is dog friendly (it's worth being aware that the small courtyard isn't secure but that didn't bother us). The barn is well equipped and has a lovely, spacious en Read moresuite with an excellent shower. Access is straight into the tiled-floor kitchen which is great for dealing with a muddy dog. A great stay, thank you! Hide

The cottage was lovely, a very beautiful area. A nice touch with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits ready for a much needed drink when we got there. As a dog friendly accommodation I felt that it would have been nice to have a fenced off area for the dog. Lots of lovely areas to walk right on the doorstep.

Lovely location - a short walk up onto Curbar Edge or down to the pub! Compact but makes very good use of the space, the living room doesn't feel cramped. Upstairs is well designed too although if you're over 6 foot you do stoop a little. Good TV with smart apps, sofa could do with replacing.
