A traditional shepherds hut enjoying countryside views by day and black skies by night, beautifully furnished creating the perfect romantic bolt hole for couples to enjoy.

This charming shepherd’s hut, set in the peaceful hamlet of Twyford Common just 4 miles from Hereford, is a wonderful little place to hide away with your favourite human and your favourite canine companion! Sleeping you both in a cosy double bed with plenty of space for the pup to snooze, this cabin is the ideal opportunity to explore the stunning Herefordshire countryside through the many footpaths right from your front door. Stroll through the 36 acres of grounds and discover lots of wildlife in a peaceful setting.

The lodge, which is secluded within the fringes of a mature meadow and reached via a few wooden steps, is cosy and welcoming. Step back in time among simple cladded walls and pretty picture windows; you’ll feel cosy and warm in the cooler months with the wood burner. Cook up a storm in the kitchen that has everything you need for easy meals and eat out in the enclosed garden. If you fancy getting your grill on, sizzle up the BBQ and bubble away in the private hot tub while the food cooks – just watch out for puppy dog eyes hoping for scraps!

Take a stroll along the footpaths along by the River Wye in Hereford before stopping for a bite to eat at one of the many dog-friendly pubs or cafes. Wigmore Castle (24 miles) has a lovely 10-mile circular walk nearby, so you can make a day of it and bring a picnic. Eastnor Castle (20 miles) is one of the few stately homes where dogs are welcome into the house as well as the grounds, so this is a must-visit. Picturesque town Ross-on-Wye (14 miles) also has lots of pubs and cafes that welcome hounds.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

With a beautiful remote location this was a perfect destination for our mini-moon. A great place to relax and enjoy the countryside with plenty to do in surrounding areas and great recommendations from the owners. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go again. They even followed up when we had forgotten to pack a few things.
