Take a trip to the hills above the village of Govilon and you’ll be bowled over by this spacious, detached property which comfortably sleeps six guests and pampered pups. Located in the hills above the village, the local shop and pubs are just 1.5 miles away. This rural location is right in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is great to explore on long, winding walks with the dog or a scenic bike ride nearby.
The property is accessed via rather narrow country lanes set in 40 acres of its own land with caves to explore and exhilarating climbs all set in the grounds. The beautiful open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner gives stunning views of the fields beyond. Guests can decant to the comfortable sofas nestled in front of the warming wood burner, ideal for even the coldest of nights and providing a pleasant focal point to the room. Be warned, though, a sneaky dog may get the best spot in front of it first. A couple of steps leads down to the lower ground floor, where a second lounge gives kids a place of their own to play to their heart’s content.
The village lies on the edge of the Blaenavon World Heritage site, with several historic attractions nearby, including the Big Pit National Coal Museum and the Blaenavon Heritage Railway just 6 miles away. Dogs will love the miles of walks right on your doorstep, although a trip to Abergavenny with dog friendly eateries may be just what the doctor ordered. Less than 5 miles away, this bustling market town is the place to go if you’re a foodie fan as it is home to Michelin starred restaurants and hosts the Food Festival every September or visit Crickhowell which was named as the best place to live in Wales in 2019 by "The Times" and is home to the longest stone bridge in Wales. Take a stroll along the tow path of the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal which is often voted Britain's prettiest canal.
