This quaint and cosy cottage is a romantic bolthole for couples in search of a relaxing break in the Lakes.

For couples who can’t bear to leave their dogs at home, this property is ideal for you. Located in the grounds of Crosthwaite House, the one-bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps two and two dogs. A short walk from an award-winning, dog-friendly pub, and located in the Lake District National Park, you’re never too far from wonderful walks and cycling routes.

Traditionally decorated, the living room and kitchen are framed by old wooden beams which add to the authentic countryside feel of the place, and the central wood burner is surrounded by an old stone fireplace. With a comfortable L-shaped sofa, you can curl up in front of the fire on the chilly Cumbrian evenings and flick through books which detail the best dog walks in the area. A compact kitchen area is equipped with everything you’ll need to feed the two of you (plus your two honoured guests), and an inviting dining table seats two for a romantic candlelit dinner… which will no doubt involve feeding two smaller guests under the table. To the side of the property, the shared terraced garden has seating for soaking up the sun whilst the dogs have a run-around.

Crosthwaite is a quaint village with a church and an extremely popular pub-cum-restaurant. A little further afield, the lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere has a wealth of shops, cafes and pubs for you to unwind and enjoy. A cruise on Lake Windermere is a unique way to experience this wonderful scenery, and dogs go free on the cruise! Situated in the Lake District National Park you are never too far from dog-friendly walks and cycling routes, perfect for exploring this iconic part of the world.

Lovely quaint cottage ideal for a few days away from it all. The kitchen was well equipped, milk was even left in the fridge for us. The living room was cosy and comfortable. Smart TV with plenty of choice and lovely log burner ( which we didn't need to use but I imagine it would be lovely on cold days) the bedroom was plenty big and the bed was huRead morege and comfy. This is a lovely cottage in rural surroundings. Very easy and quick to get to from the M6 after a long journey. Its snug and perfect for two, particularly cosy in the colder seasons. Thoroughly recommend it.

Homely and good for dogs. We felt comfortable. Sharing of the garden could present problems with less friendly dogs. Owners on hand and helpful without being in your face. Would definitely go back if the opportunity arose. Ideal base for exploring the southern and central lakes.

The cottage is 'boutique' but perfectly adequate for two people and a dog! The cottage had everything you needed and was immaculately clean. The location was wonderful and the use of the gardens, which were lovely, was a real bonus. The owners were there to greet us on arrival and were very friendly and helpful in all aspects of our stay from recomRead moremending places to visit, places to eat and so on. We had a great week in the lakes in this lovely cottage. The location is perfect, the cottage has the most beautiful garden and is furnished really well. The bed is by far the best bed we have ever slept in that wasnt ours ( we have an amazing bed so this is noticeable to us). The owners are lovely and couldnt be anymore helpful. Super little cottage. Robin and Marnie Dawson are a delightful couple who gave us a warm welcome. Our dogs had a wonderful time with their dogs and one belonging to guests at the other cottage. Excellent pub but essential to book for dinner a day or two in advance.

Wonderful cottage in a superb location with a wonderful host. The living space & kitchen are cosy, but cleverly laid out so also spacious. Obviously, we loved the fire & beams, but nice touches included the book on dogs walks to good pubs! This is a beautiful peaceful cottage, nice wood burning fire for relaxing of an evening and very dog friendly, although you appear to be remote you are only 15min from Windermere and Kendal, loved this cottage and look forward to returning

We fell in love with Top Bank - such a cosy, warm and tranquil cottage in the most delightful setting. Due to one of of our dogs being lame we spent much more time in the cottage than originally planned. It was sheer bliss as we watched films on the Smart TV whilst the fire roared away in the lounge. Little (real) Christmas tree all lit up for our Read morearrival was a lovely touch. Bed extremely spacious and so comfortable. Marnie, (owner) who met us on arrival was delightful. Would recommend. The cottage was warm and cosy. It was everything we were looking for. Its set in a very quiet rural area, only a short drive to either Kendal or Windemere (15 mins tops). Robin and Marney were great hosts. There is a pub within walking distance, 5 mins. We didn't eat there but the food looked good. Most of the tables were reserved. The cottage is well located for day trips, both Kendal, Bowness and Windermere within a 30 minute drive. The cottage has all the amenities you could want and the Owners are lovely and accomodating. The garden area was a nice safe area for our puppy to play. We'd love to visit again and wouldn't hesitate to stay here.
