1 OF 3 COTTAGES SET IN THE HEART OF THE BEAUTIFUL LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK

ENJOY A GROUP GATHERING BY BOOKING 3 PROPERTIES TO ACCOMMODATE UP TO 10 PEOPLE

These stunning ground floor mews cottages have been refurbished and are set within this beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering accommodation for both families and couples in an area surrounded with spectacular walks.

This beautiful property, situated just 4 miles from the historic market town of Keswick, is perfect for your entire family – including up to two four-legged members! Sleeping four across two warm bedrooms with plenty of space for the pups to snooze, it won’t be long before you’re all up and ready to explore the beautiful countryside just outside your door. Stroll around the Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden (4 miles), the inspiration behind Mr McGregor’s garden in Peter Rabbit, before returning home to enjoy an al fresco drink in the shared gardens looking out at the spectacular views of Skiddaw.

The cottage, which is one of a complex of four properties, has the ideal mix of traditional and contemporary styling. The kitchen diner is bright with plenty of space to rustle up a hearty breakfast to prepare for the day ahead, while exposed beams and comfy sofas in the lounge invite you to sink back in front of the stone fireplace with gas fire, the pups snuggled up at your feet. Further into the cottage, the bedrooms are light but peaceful; wake up among soft, pretty decor and take in the morning with a coffee in the enclosed garden.

After you’ve had your complimentary drink and browsed the onsite gallery, it’s time to head out. Keswick has plenty to do, including the Derwent Pencil Museum (3.5 miles) and the market that dates back to 1276. Sniff out clues along the 2-mile Keswick Spy Mission Treasure Trail that starts in the market square and get the kids thinking. Derwentwater (4 miles) is often called one of the most visually impressive natural wonders in the region and is perfect for dogs, and the Ullswater Steamers (20 miles) give the entire family a unique opportunity to explore the lake and wildlife in the area.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Excellent cottage, has everything we needed and lovely views. WIFI good for email and Web search, don't expect tv downloading, too much buffering. Great local walks, recommend the Coledale Inn in Braithwaite, also the Royal Oak does great takeaways. You can walk from the cottage to Whinlatter Forest. Good walks in the forest, good cafe in the centrRead moree, you can hire bikes there, the bike trails are separate to the walk trails much safer. You can drive to there but beware carpark charges. Lovely cottage, its been well looked after over the years. We had two dogs with us and they had left nice little touches for them, a doggy towel at the door and trows to go over the couches with took away the stress of dog hair on someone elses furniture. The cottage is below the tea room and gets quite noisy from chairs and feet moving between 9-5. Hide

Thornthwaite is a fantastic location, especially for dog walking. The Rowan has good space and great views. We had a lovely stay here - the location is great & easy to find, and we had everything we needed. The shower needs improving / updating though, especially as there is no bath, and it's a shame the fire is gas instead of log, but overall we would recommend this cottage :-)

Good size cottage just a short drive from Keswick. Large lounge, big garden with lovely views. We couldnt get the gas fire to work unfortunately. The twin bedroom was suffering from damp but as there were only two of use we didnt need to use that room.
